Operation Safe Driver Week starts this Sunday, July 7, through July 13. Passenger vehicle drivers and CMV drivers engaging in unsafe driving behaviors will be pulled over by law enforcement and may be issued a warning or citation. cvsa.org/news/2024-osd-…

This #OperationSafeDriverWeek, the #OPP, @ONtransport and the @CVSA are working together to target dangerous driving behaviours. Drivers of both commercial motor vehicles and passenger vehicles need to share the road responsibly. Of the 91 fatal CMV-involved collisions that occurred in 2023, speeding, distracted driving, improper lane changes and following too closely were common causes/factors. #OperationSafeDriverWeek

The driver of this fully loaded dump truck saw fit to use the ramps and shoulder to pass stopped traffic on the QEW (including our @HRPSCMV truck). Stop and inspection revealed numerous critical inspection item defects on the truck resulting in plate removal & multiple charges

So, as all of you noticed (except the person who did the brakes), the pad was backward & caused major issues for this brake. The truck was placed OOS until an (expensive) repair was done. This defect could be seen by looking through the wheel hand hole. @HaltonPolice @CVSA ^MD
