you know the article ate so bad when they used MIC DROP as an ending reference 😭🔥👏🏻 It is true that a Grammy is one of the biggest honours in music. But at this point in BTS’ career, they probably don’t need it. Not because it isn’t important, but because everything they have achieved over the last decade has already answered every question people once had about them. And maybe that’s why this decision feels bigger than just saying no to an award. It starts a conversation about how we recognise music in a world where artists are crossing every border possible. Oh, no, those music critics are very much in the minority. Most Koreans,men and women, young old, progressive conservative, are solidly behind BTS on this issue. Even much of the K-media, who loves nothing more than to downplay BTS any chance they can get, has been standing with them this time. For the past five days, this Grammy issue has been the talk of town in Korea, and for the first time in a long while, it feels like the whole country is on the same page.
