The @_portals_ team is focused on web2 domination, and will soon open the web2 marketing flood gates (weeks?)... then you have clarity act, which will reprice assets with revenue much higher I believe $portals at 1.1m mcap is the most mispriced asset on sol Bookmark this
I grew up poor, raised by a man with an Ivy League degree. 3 luxuries matter: Home-cooked meals. A car that starts every time you turn the key. Two weeks of vacation each year. Everything else is BE. And yes, I said luxuries. We ate at one reasonably priced restaurant maybe six times a year. I didn’t even taste sushi until I was in college. Even those luxuries were limited. Every meal was made with store-brand groceries. The cars were reliable used cars. Ask AI for “the most reliable used car with the lowest resale value.” Vacations = free museums, state parks, beaches, battlefields, and camping. No Disney. Hershey or Six Flags maybe once a year. The essentials? Clothes: Salvation Army. Honestly, this one sucked, but today Walmart & Target make it easier. Fixer-upper: I’m talking serious problems. You need a solid foundation, walls & a roof. Everything else can be fixed with Harbor Freight tools, YouTube, and sweat equity. We literally bought an abandoned house in a good neighborhood. I live in rural Massachusetts. My neighborhood has $1 million homes. I bought an abandoned house and restored it, but just outside my neighborhood there are still homes for $300,000. Medical: Before settling down, one of you should get a government job with benefits or join the military before having kids. Time: This is the hardest part. My dad was a firefighter, so he’d work double shifts, then spend his days off repairing the house. Activities: Boy Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, church choir, church camp, etc. Sign your kids up for free or cheap activities. Education: Teach your kids everything you know. Read to them for an hour every night. DAD INTEL: This is the big one. Build a network. Know where to get discounted building materials, who has tools, who’ll loan you a trailer or skid steer. Firefighters, cops, National Guard members, tradesmen & church communities have always been great for this, but those networks are disappearing. Family: Live within three hours of relatives if you can. Someday you’ll need emergency babysitting or another guy to help lift something heavy. What to avoid like the plague: NO COSTCO: Unless you’re extremely disciplined, you’ll buy more than you need. NO HOME DEPOT: Lumber isn’t always the best value, tools are overpriced, and those marble countertops start looking “necessary.” Formica from a local building supply works just fine. NO FLIGHTS. We won a trip to London when I was five. It nearly bankrupted us. No flights anywhere. Fast food. This was my dad’s biggest weakness because it was cheap and easy. Again: NO RESTAURANTS. They add up fast, and you’re paying for convenience more than nutrition. No drinking or drugs. Bad decisions usually start with small compromises. No expensive hobbies. Your hobby is fixing the house, improving the yard, and coaching your kid’s Little League team. Fish from shore if you want a hobby. Dig for worms. You don’t need $15 lures. No subscriptions. You don’t need Netflix. I have plenty of money now and didn’t even own a TV until recently. You don’t need home security cameras if you own an inexpensive firearm. You don’t need Uber or constant Amazon deliveries. Now the big one: You’ll feel like shit. You’ll think you’ve failed as a dad. You’ll envy the families with nicer houses, newer cars, and bigger vacations. Don’t. This is not a competition. Your job is to be a great father, love your wife, raise capable kids, and become a productive member of society. The antidote is gratitude. Go to church. Every Sunday, thank God for what you have. Gratitude is critical. It also helps if your work serves the public: firefighter, police officer, teacher, construction worker, sanitation worker, military. Mental health problems? Start with the basics. Stay physically active, journal for 30 minutes a day & pray a full rosary. “But John, that’s extreme.” Maybe. But you’ll still be better off than 80% of Europoors.
@JesseKellyDC Best advice for fathers in their 20s who are discouraged by the financial hardships in the United States?
Nobody profits from telling you the body heals itself. So nobody tells you. Your taste buds are new every 10 to 14 days. The tongue reading this flavour is a fortnight old. Your stomach lining rebuilds every 3 to 5 days. Last week's gut is already gone. Your skin turns over every 4 weeks. You grew a whole new surface this month. Your white blood cells renew in days. Tonight's immune army was not on watch last week. Your red blood cells retire every 120 days. Four months, and the entire fleet is replaced. The fat built into your cell membranes turns over too. Years of stored seed oil can slowly be walked back out. Your liver just gets on with regenerating. It holds no grudge about the bad years. Your skeleton rebuilds over roughly ten years. The bones made in the worst years are not the ones you finish with. Every one of those rebuilds is made from what you feed it. Feed it meat, fat, sunlight and sleep, and it builds you strong. Feed it sugar, seed oil and the sofa, and it builds you soft. The body you will have next year is under construction right now. What you give it today is what it builds you into.
⚡️The debt has already won. No future Congress is going to reverse the trajectory through discipline. No electorate will vote for the scale of sacrifice required. No administration will voluntarily trigger the recession, asset collapse, entitlement cuts, tax shock, and political revolt needed to restore a genuinely hard fiscal path. The system will preserve continuity. That means the currency will absorb the damage. The national debt is a claim on future production. When claims grow faster than the productive base, the gap has to close somewhere. It closes through inflation, repression, taxation, reduced public capacity, lower real returns, slower private investment, and periodic monetary rescue. The number itself is almost secondary now. The real signal is that the United States has crossed from using debt as a tool into depending on debt as a condition of social order. Government spending holds together retirement systems, healthcare, defense, state budgets, research, infrastructure, household transfers, corporate revenues, and entire regional economies. Remove the borrowing and large sections of the country discover that what looked like private prosperity was partially public leverage. That is why the machine cannot stop. The debt is embedded inside income. Income is embedded inside asset prices. Asset prices are embedded inside pensions, collateral, banks, housing, consumption, and political legitimacy. Any serious attempt to shrink the debt burden violently would detonate the structure built around it. So policy will choose erosion over rupture. The state will keep paying every nominal promise. The unit in which those promises are paid will weaken over time. That is the real default. No courtroom declaration. No missed Treasury payment. No cinematic collapse. A long transfer from savers, wage earners, and fixed-income holders toward debtors, asset owners, and institutions closest to money creation. The public will be told that inflation is temporary, manageable, external, or necessary. The deeper reality is that inflation becomes part of the solvency mechanism. The Federal Reserve will resist this until resistance threatens the system. Then the definition of responsibility will change. Stability will come to mean keeping markets functioning. Market functioning will require liquidity. Liquidity will protect Treasury financing. Treasury financing will protect the political order. That loop is already visible. The most important consequence is moral. Once debt becomes structurally permanent, honest pricing disappears. Capital no longer flows only toward the most productive use. It flows toward whatever benefits from policy support, liquidity, guarantees, regulation, and proximity to the sovereign balance sheet. The economy becomes less capitalist in the classical sense and more managerial. Returns become increasingly political. Risk becomes increasingly socialized. Losses become negotiable for institutions and terminal for individuals. That corrodes legitimacy because people can feel the asymmetry even when they cannot name the mechanism.
There has been a massive increase in building with AI on @_portals_ and as a result there has been an equal increase in needing to review the logic created by some one else (aka the ai). Today I reworked our node view so you can see in plain english how all of the game logic is actually wired. There are also new filters to easily see which specific items are causing things to happen in the scene - making debugging your games way easier!
Back in 2009, the newly appointed director of the National Snow and Ice Data Center, Mark Serreze, warned that Arctic sea ice was in a death spiral. He predicted the Arctic could be ice-free by the summer of 2030, likely even earlier. Nearly two decades later, the data tell a very different story. According to the NSIDC's own records, September sea ice has shown no downward trend since 2007 - 18 years of stability. Despite rising CO2 levels and every claimed feedback mechanism, the ice is not budging. It remains right where it was in the mid-2000s. As climate researcher Javier Vinos put it, "Clearly the models on which these predictions are based do not accurately reflect the actual climate." The Arctic death spiral never happened, yet Serreze remains director of the NSIDC. There is zero accountability.
In 1968, researchers ran the largest randomised trial ever done on saturated fat. Over 9,000 people in Minnesota state hospitals were split between animal fat and corn oil for years. The corn oil group’s cholesterol dropped hard. The full results never got published. The raw data sat on magnetic tapes in a basement for over forty years. A researcher named Christopher Ramsden tracked those tapes down in 2013 and ran the numbers the original team never released. For every 30 point drop in cholesterol, death risk rose 22 percent. The lower the cholesterol fell, the faster people died. In the over 65s, each drop of roughly half a point on the cholesterol scale carried a 35 percent higher death risk within two years. The trial is real. It was double blind. It was the gold standard design. And it found the exact opposite of what dietary guidelines were about to be built on. It sat unpublished for over forty years while the low fat, high vegetable oil advice became national policy. This was not a small study lost in the noise. It was the largest of its kind. And the finding that mattered most never reached a single doctor’s desk for four decades.
CVS just settled its latest fraud case, and for once the fine was big enough to actually hurt. It cost them $440 million, and as a bonus it bankrupted the guilty subsidiary and forced CVS to sell it off. The company was Omnicare, a pharmacy that supplies medications to nursing homes and other long-term care facilities. CVS bought it in 2015. That same year, a former Omnicare pharmacist filed a whistleblower lawsuit, and the Justice Department joined the case in 2019. The scheme was simple and it ran for years. Omnicare kept dispensing drugs on stale, expired prescriptions and billing the government for them over and over. From 2010 to 2018 that added up to more than 3.3 million false claims and about $135.6 million in overpayments from taxpayers. A federal jury reached its verdict in April 2025. The judge did not mince words, calling it deliberate, egregious, and a very big fraud on the government. Then came the math that made it sting. Under the False Claims Act, damages get tripled. So that $135.6 million ballooned to $406.8 million, and the government asked for another $542 million in penalties on top. The court entered a total judgment of about $948.8 million. CVS ultimately agreed to pay $440 million to resolve it, with the first chunk due almost immediately. Here is the part that makes this different from every other settlement. The penalty was not a rounding error the company could shrug off as the cost of doing business. It broke the unit that did the fraud. Omnicare filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2025, and earlier this year CVS announced it is selling Omnicare to a company called GenieRx. So a business CVS bought in 2015 is now being sold off in the wreckage of its own fraud case. That is the lesson. It is actually possible to make a fine big enough to change behavior instead of just becoming a line item. Now we just have to scale that up. But honestly, why wait on fines at all? There is already a faster tool sitting right there. When an individual violates the False Claims Act, they can lose the privilege of participating in federal programs like Medicare. Imagine how quickly the fraud would vanish if that same exclusion got applied to the giant repeat offenders who keep doing this. Kick them off the program and watch how fast the behavior changes. While we wait for that day, here is my pitch. We built a pharmacy where it is literally impossible to pull this kind of thing, because you see the price before you pay it. No hidden claims, no secret markups, no middleman in a position to overbill anyone. Just the real number, up front. Imagine that.
I’m really excited about what’s going on with Digital Ray, which is my digital twin. I'm creating this so that everyone can have as much contact and as many conversations with me as they want—unlimited amounts, in the same sort of way that I do it. Eventually, it’s going to be a lot smarter than I am. This is all part of the evolutionary process. It’s still a bit experimental, but it really is something. If you want to have unlimited conversations with me, go online and try it. I also highly recommend taking the Principles You personality test. It’s online and only takes about 20 or 30 minutes. It will tell you all about your characteristics and inclinations. Integrating your assessment with Digital Ray allows for highly personalized guidance in Coach Mode, tailored to your unique needs across life and work. Elon Musk just said the one thing about America they made sure you’d never learn. The one thing that should’ve made you proud, not ashamed. Musk: “After World War 2, the US could have basically taken over the world and any country. Like we got nukes, nobody else got nukes. We don’t even have to lose soldiers. Which country do you want?” One nation held a weapon no civilization had ever possessed. Total monopoly on destruction. No rival. No consequence. No limit. Every empire in history that held that kind of power did the only thing empires know how to do. They took until there was nothing left to take. America had a greater advantage than all of them combined. And rebuilt the nations it just defeated. Musk: “The United States actually helped rebuild countries. So it helped rebuild Europe, it helped rebuild Japan. This is very unusual behavior, almost unprecedented.” Not almost unprecedented. It had never happened. Not once in 5,000 years of recorded civilization. The nation with the power to take everything chose to rebuild instead. Enemies became allies. Rubble became economies. Surrender became partnership. Germany went from ashes to the economic engine of Europe in a single generation. Japan went from unconditional surrender to the third largest economy on earth. Three years after the war, America was flying food into Berlin. Into the capital of the country that just tried to end the free world. That decision reshaped every economy, every alliance, and every trade route on the planet. Billions of people lifted out of poverty over the next half century trace back to one moment. One nation choosing restraint over domination. No other country in history can make that claim. Not one. Musk: “There’s always like, well America’s done bad things. Well of course America’s done bad things, but one needs to look at the whole track record.” Every nation on earth has blood in its history. But the measure of a nation was never its worst chapter. It’s what it does when nobody can stop it. When nobody could stop America, it fed its enemies and rebuilt their cities. You’re being told every day that this country is something to be ashamed of. By people who have no idea what the world looks like without it. Every free market. Every open border for trade. Every democracy that took root outside Europe stands in the shadow of that single decision. The values that built this country didn’t just shape America. They shaped the modern world. AI is about to hand a small number of people a power advantage that makes nuclear monopoly look primitive. 1945 was the first test. AI is the last. That power is going to exist. The only question left is who holds it. The most powerful thing America ever did wasn’t building the bomb. It was having the power to take everything and choosing not to. The people trying hardest to tear that story down have never built a single thing worth defending.
Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers warned in early 2021 that Biden’s $1.9 trillion stimulus, passed as the economy was reopening, risked unleashing inflation unlike anything America had seen in a generation. He was right. By June 2022, inflation hit 9.1%, the worst 12-month increase in 40 years. 21.5% cumulative inflation over Biden’s term that permanently increased the cost of living by $14,300 PER YEAR.

In 2021, Republicans warned Democrats that their $1.9 trillion spending binge would trigger massive inflation and pleaded with them to cut it down to around $700 billion. Progressive Sen. Chris Murphy’s response was to demand even more spending and sneer, “Cry me a river.” Democrats were warned. They did it anyway. Americans paid the price. Within just four years, the cost of living for the average family surged by $14,300 per year. Permanently.

What if the next property crash isn't a surprise but a predictable cycle? Fred Harrison argues that despite the pandemic and other global shocks, the 18-year property cycle remains intact. Isn’t it strange that socialism keeps rising in the most left-wing cities? They say the system is rigged, working people can’t get ahead, housing is unaffordable, schools are failing, and the rich control everything. But who runs those cities? Who controls the zoning, taxes, schools, welfare programs, policing policy, and budgets? Not red-state conservatives. The people closest to their ideology already run the places they claim are proof the system failed. Their answer is always the same... give the people who broke it even more power.
I asked Anthropic's most expensive and intelligent model, Fable 5, to write a response to Mamdani's speech as if it were George Washington... To the Mayor of the City of New-York Mount Vernon, 3d of July, 2026. Sir, Intelligence has reached me that you have lately seated yourself at my desk in the City Hall of New-York, with its face turned toward the publick eye, and that from this station, upon the eve of the 250th anniversary of our Independence, you delivered an address to the Citizens of that City. I have read it with attention. I confess I did not expect that these memorials would be employed in the service of principles so opposite to those by which I endeavoured to govern my publick life; and he who makes use of the memorials of the dead assumes an obligation to the principles for which they are remembered. It is upon that obligation, Sir, that I now address you, with a plainness the occasion demands. Let me first render what justice requires. Your account of the retreat from Brooklyn is correct in its facts; I was the last to leave that shore, and the deliverance was as providential as you describe. Nor shall I quarrel with your praise of those who have passed through the Narrows in hope of beginning anew; I have myself written that the bosom of America is open to receive not the opulent and respectable stranger only, but the oppressed and persecuted of all nations and religions. Had you stopped there, I should have had no cause to write. You did not stop there. For having borrowed my desk, my city, and the memory of my retreat, you proceeded to employ them in the service of the very doctrine against which I spent the labour of my publick life. Your address divides the People of America into two nations: the many, whom you flatter, and the few, whom you teach the many to abhor. You speak of soft hands and calloused hands, of men of immense fortune who have taken what the multitude have made. I have seen this rhetorick before; it was old when I was young. It is the eternal grammar of the demagogue, under every government and in every age; and I warned my Countrymen, in the last address I ever gave them, that the disorders and miseries of faction gradually incline the minds of men to seek security in the absolute power of an individual, and that cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men would ride that spirit to their own elevation upon the ruins of Publick Liberty. I ask you plainly, Sir: when you teach the labourer that his prosperous neighbour is his enemy, whose elevation do you serve? You will answer that you speak for the poor, the sick, the tenant beneath the leaking ceiling; and the condition of that man commands my sympathy as it commands yours. But the remedy you propose has been tried, in the centuries since my time, with a thoroughness I could never have imagined. Wherever men have been persuaded that property is plunder, property has fled, and want has remained; wherever the State has been made the master of industry, it has soon made itself the master of the men who labour in it. An hereditary aristocracy I opposed, and I hold no tenderness for privilege; but the security of property is among the first objects of Government, and the man who would make one class of Citizens the spoil of another has abandoned republicanism for a science older and darker, whatever new name the age may fix upon it. Nor can I pass over the manner of the thing. To greet new Citizens, upon the very day of their adoption, with an inventory of their Country's crimes, is to give them a most unhappy first lesson in the duties of citizenship; and I know of no household, no army, and no Republic that was ever held together by such instruction. Permit me, before I close, one observation upon the desk itself. It was at such a desk, in Annapolis, in December of 1783, that I performed the only act of my life in which I take an unmixed pride: I returned my commission to the Congress, and with it every power the war had gathered into my hands, and went home to my farm. The desk of a republican officer is a place for the laying down of power; the men of my generation understood this, and it is the whole of what we added to the history of government. I observe in your address a great fluency concerning what the People are owed, and a great silence concerning what their Magistrates must surrender. When you have sat at my desk long enough to learn its principal lesson, Sir, you will be welcome to it. I do not question your talents, which are considerable, nor the sincerity of your attachments, which is no defence; the most dangerous errours have ever been sincerely held. I tell you, with the freedom of a man who has nothing further to seek from any publick, that he who kindles the jealousy of Citizen against Citizen, though he kindle it in the name of Liberty, is burning the timbers of the ship he claims to steer. May Providence grant you the discernment to know it, the firmness to act upon it, and the candour to acknowledge it; and may the Union, purchased by so much sacrifice, never be surrendered to those who would divide it in the name of saving it. I have the honour to be, with due respect, Sir, Your most obedient and most humble servant, Go: Washington
Swiss farmers planted flowers between their crops and watched pest damage drop by over half. The UK is now running the same trial across 15 farms. The reason this works is embarrassingly simple. A Swiss study on winter wheat found that fields with wildflower strips had 40 to 53% fewer leaf beetle pests than fields without. Crop damage dropped 61%. The mechanism is simple. Wildflowers feed hoverflies, lacewings, parasitic wasps, ladybugs, and ground beetles. Those insects eat the aphids, beetle larvae, and caterpillars that farmers would otherwise spray for. A few meters of wildflowers hosts an unpaid pest control crew that would jump at the chance to whoop some aphid ass. In apple orchards where no insecticides had been used for five years, plots with wildflower alleyways had 9.2% damaged fruit. Control plots without flowers had 32.5%. The UK is now running a five-year trial across 15 farms placing 6-meter flower strips through the middle of fields, not just at the edges, because the beneficial insects can't reach the center of a large field otherwise. This works the same way in a backyard vegetable garden as it does on a commercial farm. Plant native flowering species near your tomatoes, beans, and squash. The pests still show up, but the predators show up too. Study doi: 20151369
On today's date in 1901, over half of the U.S. was at or above 90°F and nearly 9% of the land area was at least 100°F. The same weather occurring this week occurred exactly 125 years ago, but according to most climate alarmists, it was just weather in 1901, but this week's three-day event is undeniable proof that we are facing a climate catastrophe.
My wife and I own a pharmacy. Last month we spent days trying to pry one prescription loose from a company that did everything it could to hold onto it. The drug was everolimus. A generic. It treats cancer and protects transplant patients from rejecting their new organ. Not exotic. Not rare. A pill. The patient wanted it filled with us because we're cash-pay and cost-plus. No insurance. No PBM. No secret markups, no games. Our price was $318. That's not cheap by our standards — most of what we fill runs under $20 — but it was honest. Here's what that same prescription looked like on the other side of the counter. In 2023, Medicare was paying about $6,645 for it. That's roughly 21 times our price for the identical medication. Medicare spent around $240 million on everolimus alone that year. If they'd paid our price, they'd have saved roughly $230 million. On one generic drug. So how does an insurance company profit off a drug that expensive? Don't they pay for it? No. You pay for it. In your premiums. Their job isn't to spend less — it's to keep your healthcare dollars circulating inside their own companies. And the tool they use is called spread pricing. Spread pricing works like this: the middleman bills the health plan one price, pays the pharmacy a lower one, and keeps the difference. You never see it. On TRICARE, they pay an independent pharmacy like mine about $311 to fill everolimus. That barely covers our cost of the drug. Meanwhile the plan gets billed thousands. That gap — north of $6,000 on a single fill — is pure margin the middleman pockets. Now here's the part they'd rather you not think about. The pharmacy we were fighting was Accredo. Accredo is owned by Express Scripts. Express Scripts is the pharmacy benefit manager owned by Cigna. Same company, three masks. That nesting-doll structure isn't an accident — it's the whole design. When the pharmacy, the PBM, and the insurer are all one entity, they can shuffle money between their own pockets and call it whatever they want. The confusion is the product. And this isn't a story about one weird drug. It's the business model. The FTC has been digging into exactly this. In its January 2025 report on the three biggest PBMs — CVS Caremark, Express Scripts, and OptumRx — staff found those companies marked up specialty generic drugs by hundreds and thousands of percent when dispensing through their own affiliated pharmacies. Just those markups generated more than $7.3 billion above what the drugs actually cost to acquire, from 2017 to 2022. One in five of the specialty generics they studied was marked up over 1,000%. Some cancer generics: over 3,000%. On top of that, the FTC pegged spread pricing on those same drugs at another $1.4 billion. One example straight from the FTC's files: dimethyl fumarate, a multiple sclerosis drug. Costs about $177 to acquire. The PBMs paid their own pharmacies close to $4,000 for a 30-day supply. Same trick. Different drug. And they steer the profitable ones to themselves on purpose. Pharmacies affiliated with the big three took in 68% of specialty dispensing revenue in 2023 — up from 54% in 2016. The prescriptions marked up more than $1,000 disproportionately end up at their own pharmacies, not independents like mine. So when we called to transfer this patient's everolimus to be filled without insurance, it landed like we were asking them to set $6,000 on fire. Of course they stonewalled us. That's why we fired them. No insurance means no invisible $6,000 charge buried in a premium you can't itemize. It means the price you see is the price. Ours was $318. Theirs was thousands. Same pill.

If you thought COVID was built on a web of lies, wait till you hear what they did with Alzheimer’s disease. While Big Pharma poured billions into failed drugs and fake plaque theories, one neurologist quietly proved the decline could be reversed. And he did it without a single pharmaceutical. Dr. Dale Bredesen discovered Alzheimer’s has five root causes, not one. And when you treat those root causes, patients recover. 🧵
