When people tell someone with disabilities to “just try harder”, they’re showing their fear. They can’t accept illnesses from which you never recover. They can’t cope with the frailty of the human body. They need to make it a personal failing so THEY can remain in denial.

The 82% rate you quote is % of completed pregnancies vaccinated in first trimester ending in miscarriage. If you look at the date of the study, it was only a few months after vaccine rollouts, so THE ONLY WAY FOR A PREGNANCY OF A PERSON VACCINATED DURING FIRST TRIMESTER TO HAVE BEEN COMPLETED IS MISCARRIAGE OR MASSIVELY PREMATURE BIRTH (LIKELY NOT VIABLE). So the 82% claim is really silly and false, and computed using in invalid way. You'd need to have a study following each pregnant vaccinated women at least up to time of full gestation or a little longer until ALL pregnancies had completed to get an accurate measure of miscarriage rate among those vaccinated in first trimester. Many larger studies after this NEJM have been done, and found no increase in miscarriage rate in vaccinated relative to unvaccinated, not even when vaccinated in first trimester. None found anything remotely close to 82%. Silly silly silly silly error to claim 82% miscarriage rate among vaccinated in first trimester. It does not make “covid sense” to make this false claim

We’re seeing more people who are selectively masking. My wife knows a number of older scholars who aren’t covid cautious, or were not before but have started doing things like masking on planes and grocery stores. At least 3 people we know are doing that when they weren’t before.
