Nomination qui me redonne foi en l’humanité. Ce qui ressort du texte de Dumas, ce n’est pas une critique sérieuse des positions de Marie-Claude, mais une tentative de disqualification morale. Plutôt que de répondre aux questions de fond, fort pertinentes, qu’elle soulève, il la présente comme une menace, comme si la défense des droits des femmes fondés sur le sexe relevait nécessairement de la haine ou de l’exclusion. C’est grossier. C’est profondément niais. Or, les questions posées par Marie-Claude sont légitimes. Comment protéger les droits des femmes sans effacer la réalité du sexe? Comment garantir des espaces non mixtes lorsque ceux-ci existent pour des raisons de sécurité, d’intimité ou d’égalité? Comment concilier les droits des personnes qui s’identifient comme trans avec les droits des femmes sans imposer un cadre idéologique à toute la société? Merci aussi François de rappeler encore et encore que le sexe n’est pas une construction sociale ni un spectre identitaire et que le sexe est une réalité biologique fondamentale. On peut débattre des catégories juridiques et des politiques publiques, mais on ne peut pas demander à la société de fonder ses lois sur la négation du réel. Le problème ici, c’est cette tendance à transformer tout désaccord en faute morale. Dès qu’une femme défend une approche féministe, laïque et attachée à la réalité du sexe, on tente de la faire passer pour dangereuse. Marie-Claude Girard possède une longue expérience en matière de droits de la personne. La Commission n’a pas besoin de commissaires qui répètent tous la même ligne idéologique. Elle a besoin de personnes capables de réfléchir aux conflits de droits, aux tensions réelles et aux enjeux complexes qui traversent notre société. Par son texte, Dumas nous confirme qu’il est plus intéressé à jouer à la police idéologique qu’à contribuer au débat démocratique.

The creation of an 'asexual identity' by the Gender Identity Industrial Complex is directly related to the 'transing of children' by it's various departments, particularly the gender medical department and the gender education department. My Mother was a very proud lesbian who was out of the closet well before most members of the LGBT community but she absolutely abhorred the Pride Parades, especially the parades in Toronto & Montreal. She never once attended let alone walked in a Pride Parade. My Mother fought hard to explain to anyone who would listen that she was no different than any other mother raising a son & that our family was no different than any other family. My Mother & my Aunt Dottie (my mother’s partner when I was growing up) were just 2 working class women trying to raise a son who would respect others, respect the law, & be a decent person. They found a way to ensure I could play every sport (I learned as an adult just how many women in their social circle contributed to funding my activities) I wanted to, they did their best to convince me school was the path to a better future, that love & respect was a two way street. They signed me up for Cubs, Scouts & Big Brothers & sent me to work on my Uncle’s farm in NS every summer to ensure I had access to good male influences. In my opinion, despite being raised by a fearsome tribe of Lesbians, I had what can only be described as a very traditional childhood. I didn’t exactly listen to everything they told me, especially when it came to staying in school but 20 years in the Army woke me up & taught me that there was definitely an easier path to success but in the end, it’s where you end up, not the road you take to get there, that’s the critical thing. My Mother was embarrassed by Pride Parades because they catered to the fringe elements of the LGBT community & ignored those who were boringly normal in every way, which was the overwhelming majority of community members. A politician marching in pride parade or the Stampede parade doesn’t impress me, a politician making sure everyone in Canada has the same rights does & @PierrePoilievre is all about equal rights for all.
