It monopolized the right to define it and then systematically destroyed every attempt at real freedom that didn’t serve American interests. Whenever a nation tried to use its own resources for its own people, it was called a threat to “freedom.” Iran nationalized its oil to keep the wealth at home … destroyed. Guatemala passed land reform so peasants could eat instead of starving for United Fruit … coup. Chile voted for democratic socialism to reduce crushing inequality …overthrown and replaced with a regime that tortured equality out of existence. The pattern was never accidental. It was the operating system … Crush any model of sovereignty or economic justice that might succeed without American permission. Post-colonial countries dreaming of genuine independence were met with sabotage, rigged “aid,” and structural adjustment programs that forced them to sell everything cheap while inequality exploded. The equality abroad? The same empire that preached it built a global hierarchy where the only equality was the equal right of every other nation to be poor, indebted, and dependent. It was never liberation. It was the violent enforcement of a single acceptable version of “freedom” the freedom of capital to flow one way while sovereignty flowed the other. 250 years of this hypocrisy created the exact world of resentment, instability, and broken societies it now pretends to fix. And from what I see the world is done pretending the preacher was ever anything but the biggest hypocrite in the room.

This tweet is the most honest and accurate response I’ve seen to a story that has had me baffled by its virality. The fact so many of you saw this spectacle as some kind of powerful and poetic answer to our world burning right now is exactly the reason why our world continues to burn. The absolute nothingness of this statement is representative of how neutrality politics works. The vagueness of this banner does absolutely nothing to change the material conditions of those who are being impacted by those it claims “love power”. How is this statement going to motivate action and change if we don’t even know who it’s talking about?! Who exactly represents this kind of greedy oppressive power and who exactly is impacted by it? Who exactly is not at peace? Because it surely isn’t the global elite. And how is “love” exactly going to redistribute that power and achieve “peace”? Sorry to burst your bubble of passivity, but it is not for the lack of love that the world is burning. It’s for the lack of truth, clarity, accountability, action, JUSTICE. The world is burning because we not only lack the courage to take out the multiple fires, but we also lack the courage to find and name the source of the fires.

There are two types of racism in the west: the kind that’s considered acceptable in polite liberal society, and the kind that’s widely frowned upon. The acceptable type of racism is the kind which considers it fine and normal to drop bombs on Muslim families overseas. The kind which sees starvation sanctions as a minor issue whose pros and cons are assessed solely on the basis of whether they will be successful or unsuccessful in achieving regime change. The kind which views imperialist extraction from the global south as the natural order of the world, with centrists and progressives squabbling only about how evenly that plunder should be distributed among westerners. The unacceptable type of racism is the kind which affects other westerners. The kind whose consequences western liberals have to see. If a white woman calls the police on a black man minding his own business in the park, western liberals will send her viral on social media, and she will be unwelcome in polite society until the heat dies down. If a celebrity is caught on tape uttering an ethnic slur, they’ll be unpopular for a while, and will be considered a liability by sponsors and film studios. This is the wrong kind of racism. That’s what you’re seeing whenever the western press completely ignores a dozen Palestinians getting killed by western-made munitions on the same day the entire news media focuses on some allegation of “antisemitism” with no material consequences other than some western Jews feeling emotionally upset. The former is the right kind of racism, while the latter is the wrong kind. One is seen as acceptable and normal, while the other is a horrifying abuse. Western racism falls into two distinct categories because our entire civilization is built upon the polite kind, whereas the impolite kind is useful to the powerful only as a wedge issue to keep western populations divided against each other. Mainstream western politics is often just a culture war between one major party which embraces both the polite and impolite kinds of racism against another major party which only embraces the polite kind of racism, thereby ensuring that no political energy goes toward ending the polite kind of racism. The polite kind of racism is much more important to the powerful in the 21st century, because it’s an absolutely foundational component to their rule rather than merely a useful tool. Without the imperialist extraction of labor and resources from the global south at extortionate prices, you wouldn’t see sprawling megacorporations turning millionaires into billionaires and trillionaires who then use their wealth to manipulate western politics to promote their own agendas. Without nonstop military expansionism and the abuses of the western intelligence cartel, the managers of the western empire could not dominate our planet. That’s why every few years westerners get to vote on whether or not to advance the impolite kind of racism in their society, while the polite kind of racism never appears on the ballot. You’re allowed to vote on whether or not your government will become more abusive to immigrants and other marginalized members of your society, but you’re never allowed to vote on whether or not war, militarism and imperialist extraction will continue. This expression of racism (or white supremacism, or xenophobia, or western supremacism, or whatever you want to call it) is considered too important to be left to the will of the electorate. And you see this reflected in the consciousness of the western mind. Even relatively aware westerners who would place themselves on the far left of the political spectrum will often spend a lot more energy on domestic issues than the abuses of the western war machine. Earlier this month the discourse on Left Twitter revolved around whether or not it was a “privileged take” to say that people shouldn’t serve in the US military, the argument being that many US military personnel come from disadvantaged backgrounds. I saw a lot of US progressives who furiously disparage ICE agents and American cops falling all over themselves to defend those who enlist in the US war machine, which is quantifiably far more murderous and oppressive than domestic American law enforcement. The only way to see things this way would be to view those who live in the global south as less human than people who live in the United States. That’s the only way it could possibly make sense in your mind to see the abuses of your country’s domestic police forces as worse than the demonstrably more egregious abuses of the US war machine. You’d have to view a school full of Iranian children being blown up by the US Navy as less worthy of attention and opposition than an American being beaten by a police officer in the United States. You’d have to assume those Iranian lives don’t matter. And those are some of the more awake members of western society. Most westerners are a lot less conscious and compassionate than that. Westerners live in the most savage and murderous civilization on earth. We don’t feel like we are savage and murderous because we outsource most of our violence and slavery to overseas operations, but that’s what we are. We go about our lives consuming products made by wage slaves under an oppression machine that is defended through constant mass military slaughter, and then we wag our fingers at a viral video of some schizophrenic saying racist things in order to feel nice feelings about ourselves. That’s what western life is, right there. We’ve got a lot of growing up to do. We are in need of drastic, revolutionary change, more extensive than probably most of us can imagine at this point in time. We’ve got a long, long way to go, and a whole, whole lot of wrongs we need to make right around the world.

The U.S. left really does not understand the damage it is doing to the Palestinian liberation struggle. No serious Palestinian engaged in the struggle for liberation, whether in Palestine or in exile, would ever condemn or denounce the right of Palestinians to resist occupation, apartheid, and genocide by any means necessary. Yet we are increasingly told that people who do exactly that are part of the movement, and that anyone who challenges them is divisive, unreasonable, or an “op.” What this actually does is place Palestinians who remain committed to our political principles in the crosshairs of everyone: Zionists, the right wing, the state, and now even sectors of the left. It marginalizes Palestinians, portrays us as extremists for upholding positions that have always been central to our national liberation struggle, and pressures us to abandon our own political consensus in order to accommodate American political sensibilities. The result is the isolation of Palestinians from our own movement. And beyond being wrong, it simply does not work. Palestinians have always been told to mute criticism, soften demands, and overlook real political differences with elected officials because doing otherwise might hurt their chances of winning. We are told they secretly agree with us, that they just cannot say it publicly yet, and that once they gain power things will be different. But the opposite keeps happening. Politicians benefit from the energy and legitimacy of the Palestine movement, then distance themselves from it once they are in office. Palestinians are expected to accept that distance, accept new compromises, and accept the constant narrowing of our politics, all in the name of pragmatism. Meanwhile, Zionists are free to pressure those same politicians from the right without restraint, while Palestinians are told that applying pressure from our own political position is unacceptable. If our support is always conditional on staying quiet, abandoning our principles, and never criticizing elected officials, then what is being asked of us is political obedience, and that has never advanced Palestinian liberation.

If there’s no step in your plan that involves a forcible removal of the ruling class from power I can’t take you seriously.

It's a war on the human conscience. Sentencing anti-genocide activists as terrorists. Working to deport Trita Parsi for criticizing the war on Iran. They're actually punishing people for not acting like sociopaths. It's the same war on the conscience that saw the empire persecute Julian Assange, crush pro-Palestine demonstrations on university campuses, investigate peace activists for bringing aid to Cuba, and dramatically ramp up the suppression of free speech to silence criticism of Israel. In a healthy society, a person of conscience would thrive while a sociopath would be shunned and marginalized. In western society it's the exact opposite: people of conscience are sent to prison, and sociopaths are made president of the United States. That's what you get when you live under an empire established on and driven by sociopathic values. The agenda to dominate and control the entire human population is evil, because it can only be accomplished through nonstop war, militarism, propaganda, deception, and tyranny. That's why the truth-tellers are branded traitors, the anti-genocide demonstrators are branded anti-semites, and the peace activists are branded terrorists. We live in a backward dystopia with backward values, so the good are beaten down while the wicked rule the world.

Most humans will die without ever realizing that their brains have been completely hijacked by the indoctrination and conditioning of a few thousand psychopathic people in control of the information we're allowed to see and that is quite infuriating, actually.

It reveals a different architecture of life/one that stands in stark contrast to the logic of capitalist imperialism, and offers another measure of what it means to be human. Children were not the only victim of Minab's massacre. This episode is centered on Ahmad Salari, a 40-year old father who entered the school after the first strike, found his daughter, carried her out alive, and then returned to save other children. Witnesses unanimously testified that the school was struck three times within minutes. Ahmad was killed in the second explosion. Agha Ghasem, Ahmad's father, as he was trying to hold back his tears, looked me in the eye and said, “May God accept our Ahmad.” The principle of sacrifice is what distinguishes a revolutionary society from settler colonial societies rooted in genocide and shaped primarily by material comfort and self-preservation. A society unwilling to sacrifice cannot meaningfully challenge injustice, no matter how clearly it recognizes it. The erosion of sacrifice has contributed to a political culture in which the West’s criminal leaders are not held accountable for the suffering inflicted in and beyond their borders. The peoples of the Global South have too often paid for that failure, in blood and in life. Where societies are conditioned to prioritize material comfort over sacrifice, and consumption over solidarity, even live-stream genocide can become normalized. This is especially true where populations materially benefit from systems of domination, dispossession, and war carried out by their governments. Here, then, we come to an even deeper realization of what is at stake in the resistance to the US-Zionist death machine. Against the false world centered on profit, fear, and cowardice, a true world centered on solidarity, love, and sacrifice struggles for victory. Ahmad, picked up this struggle from those who came before him and carried it forward for those who will come after, sacrificing his life for a liberated future that was not for him to see. This episode is dedicated to those who sacrifice for these larger truths. 🚨IMPORTANT🚨 This screenshot, from April 19, is from the group chat set up by Israeli agent Shaiel Ben-Ephraim, in preparation of his so-called "Adam Project". The group members are Palestinians in Gaza, whose fundraising campaigns Shaiel was promoting, or promised to promote. This was following Shaiel's first orchestrated defamation attack against me. In the screenshot, Shaiel is telling the genocide victims in his group that if they tag me or talk to me, he would cut them off from his project. This is extortion, and this screenshot is just one of many.
