The legacy of #Brazil's role in @UN military occupation of #Haiti is front & center in today's presidential elections. The irony is it was @LulaOficial who appointed strongman @gen_heleno as commander of #Brazil's military forces in #Haiti in 2004.
People don't seem to understand what a Chapter 7 @UN military occupation of #Haiti led by @gen_heleno looks like. Haiti's democratic institutions were completely destroyed in US-backed 2004 coup & never recovered despite US pumping in billions to prop up client govts.
