This is why I can’t take this guy seriously. Domestication has been a theme within Dragon Ball for ages.. we literally see Vegeta and Bardock domesticated in real time in front of our eyes even to the point they don’t understand what is happening to them and yet this dude can’t pick up on the fact that Toriyama is purposely showing the Saiyans going through a domestication process at a quicker rate than Humans. Humanizing as a term exists because we went through said process lol 😂 The Domestication of Saiyans is a Huge theme it started with Goku, then Vegeta but Bardock is the best example. This theme should be impossible to go over anyone’s head.

Captain America is in for a tough fight in this stunning illustration by Daisuke Ishiwatari from Arc System Works.
Who's maining Captain America in #MARVELTokon: Fighting Souls?
You know who understands Goku better than literally anyone else? Goku. Let’s see what Masako Nozawa says about Goku.
“Goku doesn’t fight because he hates his opponents. If Someone’s doing bad stuff he’ll fight to restore peace but since his opponents are strong he trains to hone his skills too.
That’s why Goku has no concept of “Enemies” once the battle is over everyone is a friend. I love that aspect of Goku. Even the likes of Piccolo and Vegeta have been changed by Goku’s touch.. at first I thought they were real jerks but now I guess their kinda my friends.”
When asked if Goku has changed since the ToP Nozawa replied:
“Goku Never Changes” He is always going to be the same he will always be Goku. He wants one thing for the whole world and that’s peace. He wants everyone to get along with each other. So when he encounters a villain or a bad guy all he is trying to do is change the way they think a little bit and shift them towards good.
So in the middle of a fight if a bad guy says “You know what I have changed my mind I am going to be a good guy now” He’s going to stop fighting. He is not in it to beat him up to a pulp or prove that he is stronger, he just wants peace.
Me personally, It still cracks me up fans have not learned Goku killing his opponent is situational, he can’t kill with malicious intent that’s the rule. He has to Kill within the confines of the principles taught in martial arts which are based around self improvement-improving others with killing as a last resort for survival. I am glad Nozawa seems to inherently and intuitively understand this.

One thing the fans for the most part do not understand about Goku is that Toriyama wanted the focus to be on his Purity as he outright stated that he wanted Goku to portrayed in a way where no one seems as pure as him.
Goku started the ToP with pure intention, he had no idea that Zeno would make it into battle for their existence he wanted it to be a celebration of the martial arts ideas that purified his violent saiyan nature and in the end Goku’s purity and the effect he has on others not only brought the universes back it improved them or “Purified” them.
When Goku makes a seemingly selfish decision from a place of purity the plot uses that to create an opportunity communicate a reward system within dragon ball, selfish decision made with selfless intent leads to short term chaos and long term reward (Goku) and selfless decisions made with selfish intent leads to short term gain and long term struggle (Vegeta).
This is prominent through out all dragon ball if you look hard enough. In fact the entire point of Dragon Ball and where the stakes actually come from is Goku being tempted to lose his purity because if he did he would no longer be the benefactor of said reward system.
That is the point of the ending of almost every arc in dragon ball, Goku is tempted to give into his malicious intent and become no different than his brute saiyan ancestors but time and time again he chooses his nature as an earthling martial artist and uses that to tame his malicious saiyan nature and is rewarded for it.
King Piccolo was the first to tempt Goku to kill for himself but instead he did everything to avenge his friends purifying his malicious intent, Piccolo Jr. tempted Goku to give up on his martial arts principles and kill him and instead he gave him a senzu bean.
Vegeta awakened a part of Goku’s nature as a Saiyan he had never felt before he caused Goku to embrace the excitement that comes from high stakes battle to the point he couldn’t let that feeling go and used it to fuel his nature as a martial artist rather than a bloodthirsty saiyan.
Frieza literally awakened the Super Saiyan within Goku, his heart was completely overwhelmed by malicious intent but in the end he still chose to lean into his principles as a martial artist from earth and was ultimately rewarded for that multiple times.
In the Cell Saga Gohan almost fell victim to that same malicious intent but Goku reminded him of the same thing he learned from Roshi that if you have to kill someone do it instantly without malicious intent.
In the Buu saga everyone is put to the test, but no one is as pure as Goku. Goku’s approach ultimately leads to short term chaos but term reward through out the entire arc because the high staked situation is the reason so many relevant events take place that shaped the future and everyone’s relationships. Buu and Satan, Vegeta’s purification, Gohan and Gotenk’s flaws, none of this would have been resolved or revealed without the Chaos of the Buu Saga and Goku’s purity leads to that Chaos being turned into the best possible scenario.
Beerus was also ultimately intrigued by Goku due to his pride as a martial artist and blatantly stated he could feel Goku rubbing off on him as he learned to enjoy his fight with Goku from a different perspective from a place of pure enjoyment for battle rather than destroying and that lead to Beerus and Whis helping them countless times.
The U6 tournament brought the universes together to the point they became allies on the ToP, Goku’s effect on Vegeta ultimately leads to his behavior against Cabba and Hit converted from being exclusively an Assassin to a Martial Artist much like Tien when Goku and Roshi had their impact in him.
The Goku black arc is about the effect Goku had on Zeno, Zeno Giving Goku the Zeno Button is essentially his “stamp of approval” as the ideal pure hearted mortal the gods are trying to create something Zamasu completely misses.
