Resharing one of my favorite images of my favorite great white shark of all time...the legendary Cal Ripfin/Shredder for @SharkWeek . This guy was a rock star at Guadalupe and was likely the most photographed shark on the planet for many years in the first decade of the 2000s.

Screaming Mimi, an adult female great white shark, approaches from below with her pilot fish companions. Pilot fish can help clean sharks from parasitic copepods. In return, the smaller fish enjoy a safe haven from some predators in the shark's presence.

Guadalupe great white shark Paul Walker (named after the late actor) makes a close pass in front of the camera. This individual was the shark we saw most frequently at Guadalupe during the final year (2021) that the island was open to diving.
