I am usually very measured in my criticism of those who heavily rely on AI for their write-ups. Technology is a tool, and there is nothing inherently wrong with using it to refine one's thoughts. But when journalists - particularly those who pretend to be authors - simply throw prompts at AI and serve the resulting verbosity to the public as their own intellectual labour, it becomes more than embarrassing. It is intellectually bankrupt. At the very least, have an original thought before asking AI to help you articulate it. Give it your ideas, your arguments, your voice, your perspective - and let it smoothen the rough edges. But to outsource the entire thinking process to a machine, copy the polished output and present it as evidence of your literary prowess? Come on - That makes you the authentic "Gbewudani" to a machine. There is a difference between using AI as an editor and using it as your ghostwriter, thinker and author. A writer who has surrendered his thoughts to a machine has not merely automated his writing; he has outsourced the very thing that makes him a writer. Shame! Rufai. Shame.

It hurts some of us to see Dr. Reuben Abati get into an argument with Rufai. Dr. Reuben Abati was the chairman of the Editorial Board of Guardian Newspaper for a decade. That newspaper housed some of the best reporters & writers Nigerian journalism ever produced. Such were the standards of their articles that essays published in the newspaper were regularly extracted for English WASC examinations. It is that same Dr. Abati, who now has to babysit a garrulous OAP with an oversized ego on live television. It is sad to see, man.

Oseni Rufai has talked to guests rudely time and again, and it was excused because it was against the opposition. I couldn't care less about Wike or his aide, Lere Olayinka, and in as much as I don't agree with how Olayinka phrased his statement, he is very much free to not anwser any questions coming for Rufai. There were three hosts there, the other two could've easily asked the questions and kept it moving. A lot of Nigerians excuse Rufai's rvdeness as what is needed to get anwsers, but the the fact remains that there are ways a journalist is to conduct themselves. Guests are guests at the end of the day, and should at all times be accorded respect during the time they are present for an interview. If you are really observant, you will notice that Rufai only seem to be aggressive with members of the opposition or anyone who dares to disagree with his point of view. He doesn't counter respectfully, he becomes rude. However, the same energy isn't seen when interviewing the likes Peter Obi or those in allegiance with a party he endorses, even when their anwsers are far from factual. Now, doing his heated conversation with Reuben Abati, Rufia didn't initally let go even when the producers asked them to stop, that shows a problematic behaviour. And he was saying that it is wrong to "openly say that you are going to support Tinubu", that is, as an opposition leader, when your political party has a candidate. Tinubu's poor leadership aside, would he have said the same if the opposition supports Obi? And let's not forget how he spoke to Ralph Nwosu like a child. Do you see how Channels' TV Seun conducts interviews? Let's call a spade a spade.

Governor Alex Otti clearly told him there were questions he won't answer and the BORN by MISTAKE didn't do his usual shouting - YOU HAVE TO ANSWER MY QUESTION. Back to this, "Your mama toto" is used very frequently in the North. Any little argument, you'll just hear "Durrun uwarki! Ji mana...durun uwarki na ce" I bet they don't see it as offensive as a Yorùbá person would feel, if you say the same thing to them here. The same goes with "buran ubanka" which literally translates to "Your papa penis" When I was living in Lafia, they used to joke that if you were told that you're in Lafia but you didn't hear "buran ubanka" or "durun uwarka" within 10 minutes, you're not really in Lafia. They lied to you. It's so commonplace that when someone is astonished, the way an English man would say "Oh my God!" is the way a Lafia man would say "Buran ubana!" which means "My papa penis!" It tell you how language and expressions may carry different meanings and connotations around the world.
