This is the number that decides how much your paycheck is actually worth, not how big the headline figure looks in a parliament speech. Ask why 140 crore people are richer in total but poorer per person than a nation that was begging IMF for dollars in 2022. Slogans don’t feed people. Per capita income does.

The last Congress majority in Lok Sabha was 1984, 42 years ago. Read it again. 42 years ago. Post that, Congress peak was 244 seats in 1991, and 206 under Manmohan Singh. IAC was just tadka. The core engine was always communalism, just repackaged. Vajpayee's soft Hindutva, then Advani's raw mobilization, then back to Vajpayee optics in 1996. And now full blown rabid communalism with complete institutional backing by Modi. From 2 seats in 1984 to 303 in 2019. Communalism works spectacularly.
