It’s becoming increasingly clear that Lamine Yamal’s story at Barcelona won’t be just one story… there might be a second chapter. The guy you’re looking at is Ebrima Tunkara, the youngest player Hansi Flick called up for Barcelona’s preseason. He’s only 16 years old. So what’s so special about him? Tunkara was born in The Gambia, but his family moved to Spain. Thanks to his incredible physical build and natural talent, he joined La Masia in 2021 at just 11 years old. He was so physically dominant that he was constantly playing with older age groups and outperforming them. Today, Tunkara made his first start under Flick against Birmingham, and he was Barcelona’s main outlet whenever the team needed to escape the press.
