Gen Z का अपना पॉलिटिकल ग्रामर है. पोस्टर देखिए, नारे सुनिए, उनकी भाषा समझिए. वे अपने आंदोलन को कैसे खड़ा कर रहे हैं, कैसे संगठित हो रहे हैं, कैसे नेविगेट कर रहे हैं, किन तरीकों से अपनी बात लोगों तक पहुंचा रहे हैं. इसे दर्ज कीजिए. पुलिस बर्बरता के वीडियो मिले तो वेरिफाई करिए और अपने पास रखिए. जो इम्पोरटेंट है उसे एक जगह जमा कीजिए. थ्रेड बनाइए, नोट्स लिखिए, तस्वीरें और पोस्टर सहेजिए, गवाहियों को दर्ज कीजिए. जो सच है, उसे थामने की जरूरत है. याद रखिए कि कुछ महीनों बाद यह सब आपकी स्क्रीन से गायब हो जाएगा, लेकिन इतिहास इन्हीं बिखरे हुए सबूतों से लिखा जाएगा, जिसे सरकारी मशीनरी हिला नहीं पाएगी. यह आपका समय है. इसे सिर्फ़ देखकर आगे मत बढ़ो. मैंने शुरुआत कर दी है. आंदोलन में छात्रों के सैकड़ों पोस्टरों को दस्तावेज़ की तरह सहेज रहा हूं. जल्द ही उन्हें आपके साथ शेयर करुंगा. आप क्या करने वाले हैं बताइये.

Yes, Modi is not the brightest bulb, and much of his image is the result of a carefully crafted PR strategy. But his advisors aren’t stupid. They will deploy the best brains and hordes of money to quell this wave of dissent- both on the ground and across social media. Yes, Gen Z is witty, creative, and all that. But their collective anger against the establishment and Modi isn’t arbitrary. It is the consequence of being suddenly exposed to very powerful anti-establishment narratives on social media, especially Instagram- which is clearly Gen Z’s most preferred medium of social media. It is only a matter of time before Modi & Co. figure out how to capture the political space on Instagram, just as they successfully did with Facebook and WhatsApp, and begin steering the narrative back in their favour. Gen Z is fickle. Today we are ridiculing him for his back-to-back close-up Instagram videos, but he’s onto something. Let’s not underestimate their intelligence. There is a reason why they have been in power for 15 years despite mounting anti-incumbency. The opposition has to be vigilant and two steps ahead this time.

Another thing am loving about Gen Z is how they are giving zero fucks about bullshit fundas of their elders like "respect for leaders" or sanctity of "fast unto death". Judges bhi humare naukar hain. Politicians bhi humare naukar hain. Woh humare paise ki khaate hain, hum unke nahi. They should serve at our pleasure, not the reserve. Bahut saaloon say politicians nay loogon ko kutta bana kay rakha hain, where as in democracy it's supposed to be the reverse. Next on the list whose authority needs to be broken very quickly is religious leaders (less hopeful on this front).
