Principal is not deducted. Canada absorbs roughly $500 million per year in debt service and depreciation. The US takes 50% of the revenue anyway. The only reason Canadians know is because the US government exposed the lie publicly. Three senior Liberals told Canadians the same false story. The Americans corrected the record.
