We have to stop thinking we have all the time in the world to make things right. A guy I know recently passed. Now, a person who did him so wrong is having a difficult time dealing with his death because they thought they had years to apologize.

I think there’s something deeply romantic about allowing another person’s reality to revise you. To say: I thought I understood you. I was wrong. Tell me again. That’s intimacy. The willingness to be corrected by reality.

These phones have people tricked thinking they have so many options. I think we should go back to writing letters to bring back yearning. Strictly no phones or messaging. Plan dates, get to know people face to face to bring back the art of longing.

Maturity is realising you’re gonna have to do a little bit of forgiving to have lasting relationships. But it also requires the other person to be remorseful first. Many ppl come back hoping to reconnect, but not to repair. They want ease where there’s still blood in the ground

one of the biggest freedoms i have is allowing people to not like me. none of my goals in life include universal likability

Remember when teachers used to take us to the library and librarians taught us how to conduct proper research? We’d then be assigned a topic and expected to consult at least three books before writing a report. We need to bring that back and keep tablets out of classrooms.

It’s so irritating that people will try to make you feel like a puritanical prude if you don’t drink alcohol/get drunk as if it’s not a highly addictive substance… like it actually makes developing friendships in adulthood/going out with people extremely difficult lol

Choosing someone isn’t just choosing a person, can we start considering that we’re also choosing consequences of choosing the person. Let’s not make existential decisions purely because someone is giving you butterflies.
