🎉 Thrilled to see our #MosquitoCellAtlas featured on the cover of @CellCellPress! This mosaic represents 367,000+ cells across 19 tissues, unveiling the complex biology that makes mosquitoes the world's deadliest animals. Art meets science! 🦟🎨

On the cover: The mosquito mosaic represents the tissues of the atlas presented by Goldman et al. The atlas reveals the complex diversity underlying the mosquito’s remarkable ability to locate human hosts and transmit deadly pathogens
Researchers in the Vosshall lab have discovered the first evidence of what happens when a female mosquito chooses to mate for the one and only time in her life.
We spoke to @leslievosshall and @LeahHouri about their unexpected findings. See the full Q&A:rockefeller.edu/news/38495-wha…
🦟 We've just published the world's first head-to-toe single-cell atlas of the Aedes aegypti mosquito in @CellCellPress! The #MosquitoCellAtlas maps 69 cell types across 19 tissues, revealing surprising biology: mosquitoes taste with their legs (more than we thought), glial cells (not neurons!) dramatically rewire after blood meal & males/females are nearly identical at the cellular level—with intriguing exceptions. Read it here: cell.com/cell/fulltext/…
A global effort, led by @leslievosshall and @nadavshai, just made the most dangerous animal in the world a lot easier to study—and perhaps defeat one day.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to bringing the atlas to life!
Special shoutout to first author @oliwiagoldman, who led this monumental effort from start to finish. It's been a privilege working alongside such a talented scientist!
Microbiomes shape our biology from gut-brain, skin, immunology, and more. Here, Rebecka Sepela et al explores octopus “taste by touch” sensation to ask how environmental microbiomes drive animal behavior. @CellPressNews, @MCB_Harvard, @MBLSciencecell.com/cell/fulltext/…
Cool chemistry in the olfactory system! Using the classic moth pheromone system, we show that aldehyde ligands can be specifically recognized through covalent interactions with their ORs. Very proud of this work led by postdoc @sukjin_jang in colab with Phil Cole at @harvardmed
AT LAST OUR PEER-REVIEWED PRE-PRINT IS PUBLISHED
