Gulls are some of the most hated and persecuted birds. It seems people forget, they're trying to survive.

Don't forget about them. 💔

Please leave water out for pigeons during this heatwave.

Taz is our resident hand (or paw) holder ❤️

For Cricket, every day is a good day. Even though he was recently moved to a new place with new cats and new people, he made himself at home and made a few friends in no time at all. Nothing ever seems to shake his sunny disposition! 🦗 Cricket's unique front legs, affected by a condition called carpal laxity, don't keep him from running, jumping on every surface (including our team members' backs), and playing tirelessly. His battery never seems to run out and, thanks to your support, he can live his best and healthiest life. We've been so glad to bring you along on Cricket's journey, and he has so many more adventures ahead of him! Access to the right care makes it all possible, and your generosity powers it all: alleycat.org/Donate

Thick Trunk Tuesday…🌳 Have a terrific Tuesday, dear friends. Doesn’t it look like these two are just deep in conversation? 🤭💚💚💚 #ThickTrunkTuesday

We're starting Monday off right with a happy update from the new family of Woody, just one of the many kittens you helped us save in the spring! ✨ Woody, who was separated from his mother, was impounded as a single kitten in a shelter. Unfortunately, that is a very precarious position for a young kitten to be in. He developed a severe upper respiratory infection that needed emergency medical treatment—and thanks to you, we rescued Woody and provided that care. Today, he's right where he belongs: in a loving home with plenty of toys all his own! "He still loves to play all day, especially with his favorite toy, his blue fish! He even loves to carry it around the house and settles down for snuggles at night, too," said Stephanie and Adam, Woody's adopters. "We love him more each day, and he's really made himself at home. We feel so lucky we found him!" As kitten season continues through the summer, please consider making a gift today to help us protect more young kittens like Woody: alleycat.org/Donate

Such AMAZING people!!! Paralyzed kitten was too small for a wheelchair. So the shelter made one out of random junk. upworthy.com/paralyzed-kitt…

#Savior was always so expressive with his looks and the noise he would make. This popped up on Les' memory. Even though his time was short with us, he was #loved by many. Les wanted to bring smiles to people's faces today by sharing. #LilMan #OurSweetestBoy

This is the face of suffering.

Please support STAE’s work as we fight daily to save Asian elephants from extinction. Your help is much appreciated. zurl.co/ayOvJ

🌄Good morning from friendly Hunter! He's our polydactyl boy and he's graduated from intake! Now he's in room B with Cricket, Taz, Phoebe, RoRo (we'll introduce you soon!), Sweets, & Bubba. A magnificent kitty crew!

Blue eyes, green eyes, yellow eyes, one eye--the cats in our care come in every color and from every kind of background! So do the cats we protect around the nation and beyond with our supporters like you. 🐈 Thank you for helping us save cats' lives and transform the way they are treated in their communities. 💙 There are so many ways you can help us create even more lifesaving change at alleycat.org/WaysToGive

Baby elephants are very fragile, inside and out — even their delicate skin is susceptible to sunburn. In the wild, calves stand beneath their mums for shade. We have to improvise for youngest orphans at the Nursery, slathering their ears with sunscreen on particularly bright days. Once they’re old enough, elephants protect their skin through daily mud baths, which serve as nature’s sunscreen. However, infants don’t have the trunk functionality to coat themselves with mud, so our Keepers happily lend a helping hand! To date, we have successfully raised more than 300 orphaned elephants. Meet the orphans currently in our care and find out how you can support their journey back to the wild through an adoption: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans

How someone treats a rat, a pigeon, a "pest", that's who they really are. Kindness that only extends to the cute and the loved isn't kindness. It's convenience.

Now imagine a summer without it. We've paved, fenced and tidied our gardens until there's nowhere left for the small lives that used to share them. No gaps to pass through. No shelter. And on a hot day, not a single drop to drink. 𝐒𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 Your garden can flip from problem to solution faster than almost anything else you own. Put out a shallow bowl of water with a stone in it so nothing drowns. Cut a Hedgehog-sized hole in the fence. Let a corner grow wild. Plant native flowers and a few berrying shrubs. They may be a mall acts, but multiply them across a street, a neighbourhood, a country, and you've built a living network no nature reserve could match. #WildlifePhotography #Hedgehog 🦔 🎦 Credit: Unknown (DM for credit).
