@SoStellalicious You caught me 😅 I misunderstood! Yes, you can force visitors onto your theme across your public pages, just not across their own logged-in app.

@TheFindomHive @MissBownsyou Yes, all mine. Layout, type, palettes, the theming system, no component library off the shelf. It's also deliberately not trying to invent the wheel. It's a money tool people open on a phone every day, so legible beats novel. Leaving it there and getting back to building.

Appreciated. It's a tool in the workflow, the way every developer uses tools now. The engineering, the decisions and every figure the ledgers produce are mine, and I understand all of it because I'm the one on the hook when it breaks. The part I suspect those Dommes actually care about is the product itself, and there's no AI in it. I published a policy on that yesterday: a purely AI or 2D persona with no real person behind it gets no directory listing, no writings board and no Discord. It can still use the app, it just doesn't get the community spaces. Those are for people.

And more will come to it! Future features will build on it.

🛂 New: the Sub Passport. A page a sub publishes about himself: 18+ verified, on DebtKeeper since, badges, archetypes, honesty score. He ticks each line and picks who sees it: the link, signed-in people, or nobody. Off and private until he says otherwise.

Yes. The stack is deliberately boring: Node, Postgres, nothing exotic or clever for the sake of it. I know the system because I designed it, and the tests and documentation exist precisely so it doesn't depend on my memory or on any one tool. AI makes me faster, it doesn't make it possible. The clearest example is recent. I moved the entire database onto my own servers recently, which is about as delicate as this work gets. AI was no help at all for the part that mattered, so I did that by hand. That is normally how it goes with anything where you have to genuinely understand what you're doing rather than just produce code. And if I get hit by a bus... Boring, documented and heavily tested is what makes a thing someone else could actually pick up. On cost, yes, a fair bit. Best servers available, the replica, the backups, the verification checks, all of it comes out of my pocket and I can afford it. That's the whole reason there are no ads, no trackers and nothing sold on to anyone. I don't need to make money out of the people using it, so I've never had to design it as though I did. If it ever makes sense there might be optional premium bits for people who want to chip in toward the running costs, but there are no plans for that right now and nothing is sitting behind a paywall. And I understand the scepticism completely. We have all been trained into it. Many platforms in this space get everyone to build their income on top of it, and then the fees appear, the terms change, and one morning a payment processor gets nervous and half of you are deplatformed with no warning and no appeal and no human to even ask. It happens over and over, and nobody is ever held accountable for it, because that is what a company is. There is always somebody upstairs who needs the numbers to go up, and you are the number. I'm not one. No investors, no board, no exit plan, nobody needing a return out of any of you. Anyone who's been in the Discord a few weeks can tell you what I'm actually like to deal with, and that's worth more than anything I say about myself.

No, I'm not saying that. AI is part of how it's written and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. It's the wrong question though. Most engineering teams use it now, including the ones you'd trust without a second thought. What matters is what has to be true before anything ships. Here that's 4,000+ tests on every change, 13 suites against real PostgreSQL beating on the money paths with concurrent writers, no balance ever stored anywhere, a nightly job that re-derives every contract and alarms me if one cent disagrees, review before every deploy, replica first with verified rollback, backups restore drilled. It's been live for months holding hundreds of Dommes' ledgers, which is a harsher test than anyone's opinion about how it was built. Judge it on whether it holds up and whether anyone can break it, rather than on which tools were open while it was built. The offer stands: find a real security issue and I'll fix it and credit you.

Two more things worth saying, since both were explicit choices. Where it runs. The primary server is in Amsterdam and the replica is in Amsterdam too, at a second provider so one company having a bad week cannot take the whole thing down. Everything sits in the EU, including the encrypted off site backups. That was picked for a reason. GDPR is the strictest data protection regime there is and I would rather build under it than go somewhere looser and hope nobody minds. Who it runs with. Both hosts were chosen because they work with adult businesses openly, so there is no risk of waking up deplatformed because somebody in a compliance department finally read the homepage. We did not take that from a marketing page either. We went to their legal and compliance teams and asked in writing about data protection, data location and processing terms, and we have their answers on file. Deeply boring work. It is also the difference between a promise and a contract. Age verification. That runs through Didit, a dedicated identity verification provider. DebtKeeper stores exactly one thing from it, a yes or a no. The document stays with them under a 30 day retention and never touches our database. There is no field in the app that could even hold it. We wanted the answer without keeping the evidence, because the safest place to store a photo of somebody's passport is somewhere that is not our server.

Really glad you asked rather than assumed. Privacy was the design constraint from the first line, not a policy page written afterwards. Start with how little there is to lose: sign-up is a display name (make one up, most do), an email and a password. No legal name, no address, and no payment details at all, because it processes no money. The safest way to protect card data is to never accept any. Two strictly necessary first-party cookies, one of which just keeps you signed in. No tracking cookies, no ad networks, no third-party analytics, no profiling of anyone, which is why there's no cookie banner to click past. Export everything you have in one tap, delete it in another, and the deletion is real. Consent is the default anywhere something could become public. Nothing about a relationship is published unless both people have opted in, and a missing answer counts as no rather than yes. Dommes control what their page shows down to individual figures. Reviews are anonymised. Private notes are never visible to the other party. We built a tool to look up a sub by email, then deleted it before it ever shipped, because looking up someone who never opted in isn't mine to offer no matter how useful it would have been. On the build: AI is a tool in the process, not the process. Nobody types "make me DebtKeeper" and gets a working ledger. Every change runs 4,000+ tests, 13 suites of them against real PostgreSQL to hammer the money paths with concurrent writers, because that's where a ledger actually dies. No balance is ever stored, every figure is recomputed from the ledger on read, so it can't silently drift, and a nightly job re-derives every contract and alarms me if a single cent disagrees. Every commit is reviewed before it deploys, deploys go out to a replica first with a verified rollback, and backups are daily, encrypted, off-site and restore-drilled end to end rather than assumed to work. Independent security reviews have run against it and the findings were fixed and shipped. If anyone finds something real: [email protected]. Fixed fast, credit given, and that offer doesn't expire.

Each priced gift can have its own direct link. Add the specific item/gift URL to that tier and the sub will be taken straight to it; the external platform controls the price and checkout. If no tier link is added, it uses your general payment link and they select the amount there.
