As marches take place yet again where we’ll see anti-semitism & hatred in London, it is sad to see democracies vote at the UN for a naive & hypocritical ceasefire motion. Thank you USA for supporting Israel’s right to defend herself. The UK’s abstention was very disappointing

I have read @SuellaBraverman's article in @thetimes with interest. She is right to say what she did. Many say they want authentic politicians who tell it like it is - and then complain when they do so. 1. She is in my view correct to call out a lack of even-handedness in the way some demonstrations, and indeed some opinions, are policed. Saying anything else invites people to disbelieve their eyes. 2. Any @metpoliceuk belief that there is low risk of serious disorder from the Palestine demonstrations can only be true if they intend to do what they did on previous weeks, ie not enforce the law rigorously. The Home Secretary is right to call this out. 3. Finally, we all know that things have changed hugely in Northern Ireland. We also all know the kind of events which we have seen there in the past and which the Home Secretary no doubt had in mind. There is no need for pretend outrage about this.
