I drove into Kyiv whilst Russian missiles were being fired. The birds were singing, explosions were rumbling – it all seemed surreal. Sadly, there were many casualties. Our friends no longer have a flat; everything was burnt down. They survived because they went into the underground. Lots of people were taking shelter there, as you can see in the photo. I slept for two hours and went to work. On a day like this, when everyone is tired and sleep-deprived, I feel like hugging every single person on the street. The Russian Empire will fall, but we will stand firm. There’s no need to tell us how resilient we are. This is a resilience born of necessity. I can barely walk myself from exhaustion and lack of sleep. If you can, please do something to support the people in Ukraine who are fighting for freedom and have no intention of giving up.
