For those who dont understand what is happening here,I’ll explain. Mbiti has had quite an experience with money. And as it is now,in as much as he needs money,he doesn’t value it as much. So at this point,when he Buys such gadgets and gives them out for free,To him its really less about helping out those who needed them and more of how this Noble act makes him feel as an individual. The feeling he derives from helping men after putting them in a position where its only him who can offer the help they need. The praises,the needy cries knowing very well he can help,the massaging in his ego,all turn him on,it makes him feel alive. They give him a sense of Purpose. At the end of the day,both the giver and recipient benefit. The giver has his ego massaged,the needy recipient has one less problem to deal with.
