I’m 90 years old, and I recently adopted a 14-year-old dog named Benson. His previous family asked the shelter to euthanize him, just because he was “too old” and they didn’t want him anymore. The shelter refused, believing he still had plenty of life left.. Most people thought someone my age shouldn’t be adopting a pet, but when I heard his story, I knew I had to meet him. The moment I walked into the shelter, Benson leaned his head into my chest like he already knew me. A senior dog and a senior woman.. somehow, we just connected. Now, Benson follows me from room to room, naps beside me, and wears little sweaters to keep warm. People say I rescued him, but the truth is… Benson rescued me from loneliness. Together, we’re giving each other a calm, loving final chapter. ~Amelie

A Ukrainian choir took part in the Christmas greeting from the King of the United Kingdom, Charles III, who wished everyone "a peaceful and very happy Christmas." Following this, the Songs For Ukraine choir and the Royal Opera Choir performed the English version of "Shchedryk," titled Carol of the Bells.

When older brother got to know that the kidney donor was his younger brother 😭 This is touching because some family members would not do it. This is love ❤️

My friend Jane Goodall was the wisest and most compassionate person I've ever met. She could make anybody feel hopeful about the future…no matter the hardships of the present. Just this weekend, she wrote to let me know she was thinking about what she could do to alleviate all of the suffering in Gaza, in Ukraine, in Sudan, and beyond. She was my hero, my inspiration. I will miss her every single day.

The world has lost a tireless guardian of nature. Dr. Jane Goodall changed the way we understand animals — and our own humanity. Her advocacy inspired generations and her research revolutionized the field of biology.  Her legacy lives on through every life she fought to protect. May she rest in peace, and may we take up her torch.

Wanted to find a way to reach more kids to educate them about being kind to dogs. Tina was the most special of all the dogs. A children’s book is the ideal way to do that. Every penny I make goes to the street dogs (1/2)

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our founder and friend Robert Redford. Bob’s vision of a space and a platform for independent voices launched a movement that, over four decades later, has inspired generations of artists and redefined cinema in the U.S. and around the world. Beyond his enormous contributions to culture at large, we will miss his generosity, clarity of purpose, curiosity, rebellious spirit, and his love for the creative process. We are humbled to be among the stewards of his remarkable legacy, which will continue to guide the Institute in perpetuity.

Following in your brother’s footsteps, you dedicated over a year to finishing the challenge—and at just nine years old, you’ve already proven to yourself and to everyone watching that you’re capable of great things. Be proud of yourself, because your hard work has made a real difference in your community and will inspire others for years to come.
