Sorry to put you on blast, Gregg… but here goes. READY? There’s nothing wrong with doing maintenance on the reflecting pool. Obama simply didn’t BRAG about it like Trump, so people didn’t talk about it. He had something called humility (look it up). Trump brags like he’s the second coming of Christ for applying some cheap-ass bullshit liner that to align with his egomaniacal 250 year celebration of our once great country. How about this one… Obama deported more immigrants than Trump, but he didn’t run around doing victory laps and psychologically terrorizing people. And he didn’t weaponized ice with face-masks and unmarked vehicles to freak entire communities out yet he still got his job done… When you’re a prick of a braggart who needs credit for everything but then blames everything he does wrong on others — you put a target on yourself for criticism. Maybe you should take a lesson in this before you get back on this platform.

In 1917, the United States government asked an 84-year-old woman to return her Medal of Honor, the highest military decoration in the country. She did not even reply. She simply continued to pin it to her clothes every single morning, wearing it until her very last day. That woman was Mary Edwards Walker, and to this day, she remains the only woman in American history to have received this honor. Mary was born in 1832 into a family that was very special for its time. Her parents were activists and believed in true equality. Her mother refused to wear corsets, and her father wanted his daughters to study just like men. Mary grew up with this idea of freedom and decided to become a doctor. In 1855, she graduated from medical school, which was an incredible and scandalous achievement for that era. Men mocked her, and people refused to be treated by her simply because she was a woman. When the American Civil War broke out in 1861, Mary immediately went to help the army. At first, they told her no and suggested she work only as a nurse. She did not give up. She stayed at the front lines as a volunteer, treating wounded soldiers under enemy fire without receiving any pay. Thanks to her determination, she eventually became the first official female surgeon in the United States military. During the war, she was also captured by enemy forces and spent four months in a very harsh prison. As soon as she was released, she went right back to the front lines to treat the wounded. For this immense courage, President Andrew Johnson awarded her the Medal of Honor in 1865. Many years later, in 1917, the military decided to change its rules and revoked over nine hundred medals, including hers, because it had not been won in direct combat with weapons in hand. Mary refused to give it back. To her, that medal was not just a piece of metal, but the symbol of her sacrifices and her service. After the war, Mary continued to fight for women rights. She was arrested several times for the way she dressed, as she preferred to wear pants, a jacket, and a top hat instead of traditional women clothes. Every time she went to court, she showed up with her medal pinned to her chest, proud of her choices. Mary Edwards Walker died in 1919. A long time later, in 1977, President Jimmy Carter officially restored her honor, admitting the government mistake. Mary was no longer there to see it, but she did not really need it. She had never stopped being a free woman who walked with her head held high, far ahead of the world around her.

As a DC9 union painter with 30+ years in coatings, I’m looking at the failure not a conspiracy theory. When a coating is lifting off in large sheets like this, that points to an adhesion failure: improper surface preparation, contamination left behind, the wrong coating system, poor recoat timing, or water introduced before the system fully cured. A quality two-part epoxy system can perform well but the product is only as good as the prep and application. The substrate has to be properly profiled/cleaned, the specified primer or first coat applied correctly, recoat windows followed, and the full system allowed to cure before being put back into service.
