A Wrong Turn That Cost 20 Million Lives. History can sometimes be changed by a single, unpredictable moment. On June 28, 1914, in Sarajevo, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, and his wife, Sophie, were assassinated by Gavrilo Princip. What initially appeared to be a localized political assassination soon became the spark that ignited a catastrophe far beyond the streets of Sarajevo. Europe was already divided by military alliances, secret treaties, imperial rivalries, and growing political tensions. Within weeks, these interconnected forces pulled one major power after another into war. The assassination ultimately set in motion the events that led to World War I—a devastating conflict that redrew borders, brought empires crashing down, transformed the global political order, and claimed millions of lives. Sometimes, history doesn’t change gradually. Sometimes, it changes in a single moment.

Meta's Smart Glasses PR Cleanup Campaign Is in Full Swing: The decision to use women specifically is even more interesting, especially because women have been on the receiving end of quite a bit of creepiness resulting from Meta's smart glasses. The effect of showing women accepting smart glasses as a category could be a subtle way of trying to neutralize the "pervert" perception. gizmodo.com/meta-smart-gla…

Interstellar (2014) movie explained in 3 minutes..

What If the Earth Stopped Rotating for Just ONE Single Second? Right now, as you read this, you, your chair, the atmosphere, and the ground beneath you are hurtling eastward together at roughly 1,670 km/h (over 1,000 mph) at the Equator! Because of relative motion, you feel completely motionless. But what if the crust beneath our feet hit the brakes for just 1 second? Here is what the laws of physics dictate would happen: 🔹 1. Newton’s First Law (The Weapon of Inertia): • "An object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an external force." • If the bedrock instantly drops to 0 km/h, everything not anchored miles into deep bedrock (people, vehicles, buildings, soil) would instantly be launched eastward at supersonic speeds! 🔹 2. Atmospheric & Ocean Disruption: • The Hydrosphere: The oceans would violently slosh out of deep oceanic basins, consolidating into colossal kinetic walls of dark water dwarfing typical tsunamis and surging hundreds of miles inland. • The Atmosphere: The air envelope would continue racing eastward at 1,670 km/h, creating catastrophic supersonic surface winds that would act as a global planetary sandblaster, stripping away topsoil and vegetation down to barren rock. 🔹 3. Why Latitude Matters: • Rotational speed is highest at the Equator (1,670 km/h) and tapers toward the poles (dropping to under 200 km/h near polar latitudes). The closer you are to the poles, the less violent the horizontal kinetic launch. 🔹 4. The Calming Reality: • Thankfully, this is strictly a mathematical thought experiment! In the vacuum of space, there is zero external friction or braking force capable of interrupting Earth's massive rotational momentum.

The GTA 6 map really is going to massive isn’t it. Probably the best open-world we will get to see experience for the next 10+ years - and beyond! Red Dead 2’s open world is probably one of my most favourite of all time. I’m ready to see that dethroned by GTA VI’s Leonida #GTAVI

On 1 March 1982, the Soviet Venera 13 lander punched through Venus’s sulfuric-acid clouds and slammed onto a basaltic plain east of Phoebe Regio — a world of 465 °C heat and 89 atmospheres of pressure, hot enough to melt lead and crush a submarine. Designed to last 32 minutes, it survived 127, drilling a soil sample, analyzing its chemistry, and returning the first color photographs ever taken from the surface of another planet. Those orange-lit slabs of volcanic rock, a discarded lens cap, and the lander’s own arm remain among the only images humanity has ever received from the Venusian ground. Credit: USSR
