Dear Mr Burnham @andyburnham , you say that asylum seekers should not just be housed in poor areas, but in rich areas. No, they shouldn’t be housed in any areas of Britain. There is no war in France and hasn’t been for quite some time. Nor Germany, nor Italy, nor Greece, nor Spain. All countries that they’ve travelled through to get to ours. They’ve travelled to ours not out of desperation, but in search of a better life. A life where you will give them a house, a phone, spending money for life and no requirement to ever integrate or to work. Paid for not by you, but by hardworking British taxpayers. People who work day and night and stress and can’t sleep because they don’t know how to pay the next electricity bill. People who are decent people and trying to make a decent life for themselves and their families. This is Britain and it is a pleasant land because of the people here. The lands that the asylum seekers have come from are not pleasant lands. Not because of some geographical anomaly, but because of the people. The people that you now want to occupy every corner of this pleasant land. No, they shouldn’t be housed in rich areas or poor areas. They should be sent home. Because they will never call Britain home, but I do and so do many other people who love Britain and want it to remain as Britain. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Jeremy Clarkson runs at least eight businesses off a thousand acres in Oxfordshire. Seven of them make money. Count them. A farm shop. A pub. A lager brand. A bestselling book every autumn. A streaming series. A merchandise range. And now an app, built by Lisa Hogan, connecting the public to farms. Then the eighth. Growing food. Year one, working the ground flat out: £144. By year six, a £5,000 loss where £37,000 had been projected. This summer, two hundred of those acres grew nothing at all, because putting wheat in them was a guaranteed loss before the drill left the shed. Every enterprise on that farm turns a profit except the farming. The lager tells you why, and the chain of cause is on the record. Government subsidies were falling, so in 2021 he decided to brew beer from his own barley. That is the entire origin of Hawkstone. A decision taken in Whitehall turned an arable farmer into a brewer, and the beer worked. Nothing about the grain changed. Barley sold as barley goes at whatever the buyer offers that morning. Barley in a bottle goes at the price the man who grew it decides. That one difference is the whole business. The pub is the same move in bricks. A derelict barn nobody had wanted since 2013, bought for reportedly under a million, now with a queue. On the menu a sausage from his own pigs costs 74p against 18p for the imported version, and he absorbs that gap on every plate. The farm shop, meanwhile, is legally barred from selling food produced more than sixteen miles away, and still cannot keep up with demand. Now look at what the farming has behind it that yours does not. One of the best land agents in England. A farm manager who has worked that ground since he was a teenager. An agronomist. A production company covering the costs. A queue down the lane. A name that sells anything it is printed on. It loses money anyway. And this is the ordinary arrangement, not an eccentric one. Defra's own figures say 72 percent of farms in England now take income from something that is not farming, and diversification accounts for 31 percent of total farm income. The government's own Batters Review found nearly a third of British farms were loss-making outright in 2024. Diddly Squat is simply the loudest version. The shop subsidises the field. The pub subsidises the field. The television subsidises the field. A thousand acres of English farmland, and the one thing it cannot do is pay for itself by producing food.

The Mail on Sunday, which revealed a classic piece of “ do as I say but not as I do” Socialism estimates her bill will be £50K. I reckon it will be nearer £65K depending on the ages of the children. Her pay as a minister probably wouldn’t be enough, so the bill is likely to be shared by her much cleverer husband, a City trader and hedge fund founder. At home he’s not listening to all that Socialist shite from his 46-year-old wife and I presume has insisted they ALL go to private school. In 2024 Ms Fahnbulleh ( who herself went to a private school) hailed the imposition of VAT on private schools. She lives in South East London with her husband and clearly having seen the dreadful state schools in the area decided an independent was the answer. Luckily, after two years of tax increases, she and her husband could still afford it. 30,000 couldn’t.

In a successful marketing ploy, insurance bosses draped their company in patriotism by choosing the name Churchill ( our greatest wartime leader) and then used the bulldog ( first bred in England in the 13th century) as the face of the business. Therefore I was disappointed to discover when unusually contacting Churchill by phone ( normally online) that they had moved their call centre to South Africa and that I had the most enormous difficulty understanding the lady. She even asked me if it was her accent that was proving to be a barrier. You would have thought that despite the commercial attractions of paying only a fifth of the wages the management of a company called Churchill would give work to Brits rather than people 6,000 miles away. And you as British customers might take the view that under these circumstances they can do without your business.

With Andy Burnham taking a well earned holiday after two whole weeks as PM he left phones4Lou in charge of Number 10 & our Lucy Powell in charge of Number 1o North. She was more than happy to step in & take charge. She even made a video to carry on the vibes!

Now she runs the city like a student union treasurer with an unlimited overdraft. Her parents once considered suicide to escape debt. She considers debt a strategy. "Our Pass" is not freedom. It is dependency. Bribes for votes dressed as benevolence. The socialist playbook: spend other people's money, smile for cameras, pretend it is kindness. She is excited for "delivering more." More debt. More taxes. More free stuff that is not free. You are not a Mayor. You are a shoplifter with a press team. Stop spending. Start fixing. Or get out. England is watching.
