I have spent 23 years documenting the global LED transition of city lighting from space. Across my 4 missions to the ISS, I have photographed every major city on Earth, building a data set of the gradual replacement of sodium vapor lighting with LEDs. The warmer, yellow-orange of gas discharge lamps has been phased out worldwide to multi-colored LEDs, citing energy savings and environmental reasons. Widespread adoption has markedly changed the way our cities look from orbit, and as many have pointed out, how they feel to those on the ground! Miami, Florida as seen from the ISS in 2025. This city has changed tremendously since my previous mission, replacing its yellow-orange sodium vapor lights with multi-colored LEDs. The city grid really pops! This LED takeover of city lighting is world wide.

Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K.² is a third-person action video game developed by Ritual Entertainment and published by Gathering of Developers in 2000. It was originally released for PC and later received versions for Mac and Dreamcast. It uses a modified version of the Quake III Arena engine, which was quite advanced for its time. 🎮 The protagonist is Julie, portrayed and visually based on Julie Strain, who also starred in Heavy Metal 2000. The game is set 30 years after the events of the film and serves as a continuation of its story. ⚔️ Ritual Entertainment did not want to make the typical video game adaptation of a movie. Kevin Eastman, owner of Heavy Metal and co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, supported the idea of making the game a sequel to the film rather than simply retelling its story. Ritual received a complete collection of Heavy Metal issues to study the magazine’s different visual styles and use them as inspiration for its characters and environments. 📚

BadHumansさん(@BadHumans)からマスターコレクションVol.2版MGS4のACT2にあるスタッフの手形に新川洋司さんが含まれているか聞かれて確認したのですが 新川さんの手形だけマスターコレクション版は無くなっているんですね。 新川さんの手形が抜けた分を埋める為に元のレイアウトも変わっています。

Very few people know that Justin Gray and I wrote the screenplay for DEADSPACE: DOWNFALL the animated movie. We wrote it as a prequel to the game and it made its debut on the Starz channel many year ago. It is an adult Sci-fi thriller.
