Rose, a 21-year-old Kenyan woman was hit by 2 stray bullets during the June 25th, 2025 protests. She wasn’t demonstrating nor throwing stones. She was simply trying to get home from the salon. One year later, the bullets cost her family hospital bills and justice is nowhere in sight. 🧵

Last week, Hon. Miria Matembe sat in front of a camera and did the thing that fewer and fewer people in this country are willing to do anymore. She called out Muhoozi Kainerugaba. She said he was arrogant, proud, and had no humanity in him. She said he was a nobody, not as an insult, but as a simple fact she explained as follows: when Museveni took power, Muhoozi was a boy of about eleven or twelve. Everything he has ever had, the house, the soldiers, the basement he brags about, belongs to Uganda. He has been on a silver plate throughout. He walked in on a red carpet forty years ago through his father's title, has depended on Uganda's resources ever since, and because he has never lacked, has never suffered, he gained an arrogance that makes him respect nobody. She also said she was not afraid of him. "How can I fear death," she said, "because death will happen to me whether I like it or not. So there is no way I can fear death." Then she asked the question she clearly intended as a statement: "Why should I sit here in this house and keep quiet?" Shortly thereafter, Muhoozi sent military men to her house. She was out on her morning walk when they arrived. Her husband answered for her. The men searched through the rooms of a home belonging to a woman who helped write the constitution of this country, found she was not there, and left without a word of explanation to anyone. Her family stood in that house shaking in fear after they were gone. She has not been seen since, and yesterday, the villain in this story confirmed he has her. 1/6

We are PRIVATE citizens, the government should know very little if anything about us at all. They are PUBLIC officials, we should know damn near everything about what they are doing. The cameras are pointed the wrong way.

A reminder that the Presidency is an office, not a personal hobby. You travel on a state passport, in a state capacity, funded by heavily taxed Kenyans. Demanding accountability for public expenditure isn't 'being bothered,' it's active citizenship. Who advises these charlatans?

After days of denials and unanswered questions about his whereabouts, Davis has emerged bearing the physical evidence of the violence inflicted upon him. Those responsible for his abduction, torture, and illegal detention must be identified and held accountable. The Kenyan public deserves answers: Who took Davis? Where was he held? Who ordered his torture? Why was he abandoned and left for dead? We will not accept silence, cover-ups, or excuses. An injury to one is an injury to all. The struggle for justice continues until every perpetrator is brought to account and until enforced disappearances and torture become a thing of the past.

When I find time, I will write why I think as a society we are headed to the worst epoch. From my interactions with university students, we currently have the worst generation ever, overflowing with entitlement, laziness, dumbness and dishonesty. In every class- you have three thirds- first one want to learn, second aren't sure of anything and the last one are chronically dishonest or criminals. In the end, majority of the students we are teaching at public universities don't want to learn- so won't attend classes or read instead hope to cheat their way out. When they cheat, they are not likely to get correct answers and are not smart enough to realise or be discreet about it. So they end up being easily caught. When caught, they are the weakest ducklings you've seen. They cry, pee on themselves, while others suffer 'rigor mortis'! University students are a great sample to tell you the pulse of a generation. Yet, this is the generation that says they will change the nation and the world for better.
