Federated Farmers want resource consents removed and say that there's no risk from dropping them. Really? The environment is taking a hit from this government and they are saying trust us.
Capitalism is a system based on greed, short-term profit, exploitation and environmental destruction
It has brought us to where we are today - the edge of a precipice
Soon we will go over it, and our world will never be the same again
Australia's precious alpine eco-systems and biodiversity are under threat from feral horses, but so many Aussies are putting our natives second - why? 🐸

Disgusting to see such a beautiful place to be destroyed by #India
From 6 million to 15 million ancient trees to be felled
On Great Nicobar Island, a place defined by dense tropical rainforests, mangrove systems, coral reefs, and globally significant nesting beaches
THREAD | This World Environment Day, read @frontline_india's reporting on environmental conservation, climate injustice, unchecked greed, and the enduring fight to protect our shared planet. 🧵
The case against Great Nicobar’s big bang plan

This is really stupid, and it’s not getting enough attention.
The Trump administration is pulling a working $368 million ocean monitoring system out of the water, equipment taxpayers already bought, built, and sank into the deep ocean.
And they are doing it right when the oceans are behaving in ways that alarm the scientists who study them.
Record-breaking temperatures.
A system of Atlantic currents that may be lurching toward collapse.
The response?
Yank out the instruments and walk away.
That is not budgeting. That is smashing the gauges while the engine is on fire and calling it efficiency.
For what? The Trump administration dressed it up as a “nimbler approach” and “smart lifecycle management,” which is fancy nonsense for “we shut it off and hoped nobody would ask why.” There is no return-on-investment analysis. They cannot show taxpayers save a dime, because the gear is already paid for and the science it produces protects real money and real lives.
The kicker: the same people killing the monitors want to mine the deep sea for minerals. So they are destroying the only tools that could measure what that mining does. That is not an accident.
That is the point. You cannot see the damage if you break the instruments first.

Up to 22 Swift nests were destroyed during demolition works carried out by Northeast Demolition UK on behalf of Hill Group and Clarion Housing. Conservationists have described this as a significant wildlife crime. Surrey Police had been warned that Swifts were actively nesting.
They told you the planet is dying… and you’re the problem.
Your food.
Your habits.
Your existence.
Meanwhile, behind closed doors, something else is growing.
AI data centres in the UK alone could pump out 123 million tonnes of carbon emissions — the equivalent of millions of human lives over a decade.
But where’s the outrage?
Instead, they blame cows… tax farmers… and squeeze the people who actually feed you.
While tech giants expand quietly… signing deals… building systems that never sleep… and never get questioned.
Different rules.
Different targets.
Same script.
So let me ask you…
Why are everyday people being punished…
while the biggest emitters keep getting rewarded?
Is this really about saving the planet…
or controlling who pays the price?
Drop your thoughts below — I want to hear what you think.
And if this made you stop and think for even a second… share it.
More people need to see this.

WAKE UP Western Australia - NO more land clearing!! 🚜❌
Your diversity IS comparable to the Amazon! 🪲🌸
I can’t believe in 2026 we still have people that don’t understand how incredibly biodiverse, unique and threatened the flora and fauna of Western Australia is - especially a member of council! 😤
There is almost no where else on earth so diverse with endemic species that you can drive an hour and pass through the habitat of half a dozen different Peacock Spiders and dozens of orchid species! ☀️
I don’t care if it’s only one tree or one bush, we have lost SO much bushland in the south-west and we are guaranteed to have caused so many EXTINCTIONS already of species that never got the chance to be documented! ‼️
When will we understand that constant destruction of these habitats is not progress? We are so lucky to live in the most biodiverse country on earth and we need to start PRIORITISING the little remaining but incredible habitats of the south-west! 👊
Governments tell us to cut eating red meat to ‘save the planet’ while they ram through hundreds of massive data centres that consume vast amounts of energy and water…
Only the local community and Greens giving a shit. LNP and One Nation only like koalas when they may stop renewable energy projects.

Malaysia wants to become a regional hub for AI & data centres. A data centre can use up to 25.5 million tonnes of water annually. This amount can support 300,000 people every single day.
Nothing can replace our freshwater ecosystems once they are destroyed & drained.
This is unconscionable.
How can they do this in the middle of a cost of living crisis? Easily, it seems, look at the last 2 years.

What is killing Sumatra’s elephants? The battle to save one of our rarest animals @guardian
You could edit this headline to say ‘We are killing Sumatra’s elephants’
“They once thrived, but poaching and deforestation of the animal’s habitat, driven by farming & palm oil plantations, pushed it on to the IUCN’s critically endangered list in 2011”

Do you know that 90% of all large predatory fish (like tuna, swordfish, sharks, and cod) are gone from the world's oceans.
If humans continue overfishing at the current rate, the planet will run out of seafood by 2048 with catastrophic consequences
