I've been obsessed with motion amplified videos lately. By utilizing high definition video & image processing, the tiniest of movements are amplified into clearly seen real-time motion. Clips from RDI Technologies & RMS Ltd. dynamically demonstrate what these systems are capable of. Potential problems become highlighted, with the software able to overlay force vectors & provide analysis, and also filter for specific frequencies to view resonance. The invisible, visible. I need to try this out for myself...

The Ghostty memory usage memes are dead with the upcoming 1.4 release, much to the dismay of internet trolls everywhere. ~10x less memory for a visible window. ~450x lower for a non-visible window. Very reasonable compared to other terminals with 10 tabs. This was the result of a lot of incremental hard work, but there were two big wins. One I talked about before which was scrollback compression. I want to note that these charts do NOT include scrollback, so with scrollback the results are more dramatic! The other big win is that we free almost all GPU resources when a window is fully occluded (covered by another window, minimized, etc.). We triple-buffer our screens so for large screens this has major savings. Those account for a large chunk of the improvements, but we also had dozens of incremental 1% wins here, a few KB there, etc. throughout the 1.4 cycle. And there are more coming! I noted before that Ghostty's memory waste was all in the app layer and we can see it here. libghostty has always been very tight in comparison and I've shown comparisons to other embedded terminal libraries elsewhere. And importantly, the charts below use the same grid sizes with a very small +/-2% difference due to differences in how cell metrics are calculated between terminals.

Experimenting with celld in increasingly pathological situations. After merging the replicated write-behind log, this experiment had 4 instances of celld, each on its own machine, and round-robin kills them every few minutes to see how the fleet handles it. Testing is done at a few layers: a TLA+ model, deterministic simulation testing, typical regression testing, and real life lab experiments like this. Maybe some day I'll be able to experiment with it at discord scale :)

From desktop to web, and back again. We're engineering each @superlogical client to feel native to its platform and the best possible expression of what that environment has to offer. For web, that means a responsive ui with a webgl+libghostty powered terminal emulator.

Your current signature issue is passing a tax on my ability to run my own company. Not the financial interest, the voting control itself. This is a critical aspect of the Billionaire Tax Act. It makes founder-led companies practically illegal. If a founder-CEO of a $1B private company owns 3% but keeps 100% of the voting power, he gets taxed on the value of the whole company. $50M tax bill for $30M net worth.
