$PLTR is the professional house painting company.
Anthropic is like painting a house with a toothbrush. Possible but a bad idea.
Open AI is like trying to paint a house with a rake while naked. Ugly and pointless.
The market will crash again.
Congrats, you have discovered gravity.
It happens. It always happens. Every few years the market throws a tantrum, MSM brings out the recession countdown clock, and some guy with a newsletter tells you this is the big one.
Peter Lynch had the perfect line: more money is lost preparing for crashes than in the crashes themselves.
That sentence should be tattooed on every investor’s forehead.
The PhD economists cannot time it. The billion dollar hedge funds cannot time it. But somehow Dave on Twitter with 14 followers and a chart figured it out?
Please.
The permanent crash callers are usually the same people who missed the bull market, missed the recovery, missed the compounding, and then call themselves disciplined because they are still sitting in cash.
The crash is coming someday.
Fine.
Build a portfolio that can take the punch, keep buying quality, and stop pretending fear is a strategy.
What people will do to look rich is honestly insane.
They will finance the truck.
Finance the boat.
Finance the Rolex.
Finance the jet ski.
Finance the vacation.
Finance the furniture.
Finance the lifestyle.
And then call it success.
But most of the time, it starts in the same place.
Emotion.
Not numbers.
Not goals.
Not planning.
Not strategy.
Emotion.
I deserve this.
I work hard.
Everyone else has one.
Life is short.
I can afford the monthly payment.
And that last sentence is where people destroy themselves.
Because being able to make the payment does not mean you can afford the thing.
Then the bills show up.
Car payment.
Insurance.
Credit cards.
Student loans.
Childcare.
Property taxes.
Groceries.
Gas.
Subscriptions.
Random nonsense from Amazon you do not remember ordering.
And somehow people are shocked that there is no money left at the end of the month.
But hey, the driveway looks amazing.
Then life does what life always does.
Job loss.
Medical bill.
Business slows down.
Bonus disappears.
Rates go up.
Emergency hits.
Suddenly the whole fake rich lifestyle starts shaking like a cheap folding table.
And that is when people learn a painful lesson.
Expensive toys that do not fit your financial reality are not rewards.
They are anchors.
A $90,000 truck does not make you successful.
A boat you barely use does not make you wealthy.
A luxury watch bought on credit does not make you rich.
It just makes you a volunteer employee for the bank.
Build wealth first.
Then buy toys.
Assets first.
Cash flow first.
Emergency fund first.
Investing first.
Freedom first.
Then, when the money is actually there, enjoy the toys without turning your life into a monthly payment prison.
The American dream is not the problem.
Buying status without a plan, without margin of safety, and without understanding the numbers, that is the problem.
Be smart with your money folks.
Meta cut 8,000 people today.
A survivor wrote about a teammate who slept 4 hours a night for months.
Commits at 3am.
Commits at 6am.
IC4. Strong reviews. No PIP.
Cut anyway.
Working harder doesn't move you up the layoff list.
You don't survive by being valuable to them.
“Where does everyone get the money?”
I had coffee this week with a smart guy. Good job. Good income. Normal guy.
Halfway through the conversation, he put down his (overpriced) cappuccino and said something a lot of people are thinking but are too embarrassed to say out loud:
Tom, I feel like I am the loser.
My feed is full of people buying investment properties, flying to luxury resorts, upgrading cars, posting rooftop dinners, perfect vacations, perfect kitchens, perfect lives.
And me?
I am trying to figure out if we can afford soccer practice for the kids this month.
Where is everyone getting the money?
Here is the answer most people do not want to hear.
A lot of them are not rich.
They are leveraged.
The shiny new car in the driveway?
Loan.
The luxury vacation?
Credit card debt.
The perfect house?
Massive mortgage hiding behind granite countertops.
The designer lifestyle?
Monthly payments.
A lot of people are not winning.
They are acting and performing.
Real wealth in 2026 is not the newest car.
Real wealth is sleeping at night.
Real wealth is not being owned by the bank.
Real wealth is having cash flow, discipline, investments, and zero need to impress strangers on Instagram.
Get out of the fake rich Olympics.
Build quiet wealth.
That is the cheat code.
This is NOT an elite physique (obviously 🤣), but having said that, I’m proud of my fitness journey.
Still a long ways to go, but at 45 years old, I guess this is my mid life crisis…
Loving the process and never thought I’d put up my shirtless pic on X.
Hey @nikitabier why it’s so hard to report impersonation accounts. Is there a way to do it with a one button click?
These scammers are all over social media like cockroaches.
Any chance you can do something about it.
