Network Rail is closing Crewkerne station until further notice. No SWR services will call. This is to keep punctuality statistics up after NR imposed a four-mile 40mph TSR to combat the effects of the trackbed drying out in this year’s dry weather.
From Monday 28 July, @SW_Help services between London Waterloo & Exeter St Davids will not call at Crewkerne until further notice. The dry 2025 has led to the clay base in the soil drying out and disturbing the tracks, requiring speed restrictions. More: networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/plan-ahea…
