We all witnessed what happened before, during and after January 6th. Trump hasn't stopped being a danger to our democracy and he still needs to be held accountable for inciting the insurrection. That means barring him from office. We're suing.

Mike Mukasey’s argument that the President isn’t an “officer” of the United States under the Disqualification Clause is as baseless textually as it is offbase intuitively. It’s unworthy of a former Attorney General, though the Wall Street Journal has apparently bought it.

The latest argument is that the 14th Amendment’s Disqualification Clause doesn’t apply to Donald Trump because the presidency isn’t a mere “office.” Really? Article II of the Constitution refers to the “Office” of President nine times! These folks evidently have a “king” complex!

Conservative and liberal legal scholars alike agree that enforcing the 14th Amendment against Trump for inciting the insurrection is legitimate and necessary. This is an issue that is bringing the country together. This is what it means to protect our democracy.

Donald Trump had no First Amendment right to try to overthrow the government. By doing so, he disqualified himself from office under the 14th Amendment. We're enforcing that.
