My name is Stephen Martin. I am trying to get access to a nasal spray for this three year old boy, Brody DeVault.
He has Creatine Transporter Deficiency. The creatine in his bloodstream does not make its way to his brain. Without treatment, he will live a life of intellectual disability, and probably die young from a seizure.
There is a treatment which has finished Phase 1 clinical trials which may help him. I have spoken to the manufacturer, they will provide it to him under Montana's new law SB535.
But only if we can get them official promises from HHS that they will not be punished for treating a patient under a state law.
I have a meeting with the FDA on the 18th. Right now the single thing which most increases the likelihood of getting Brody treatment, is making sure that President Trump becomes aware of this before that meeting.
I'm posting this in the hopes that I can bring this to the attention of people who can, in turn, bring this to the attention of President Trump. The meeting is in 6 days.

The richest man in America signed a document that could have gotten him hanged, and when someone sneered that he was safe because no one would know which Charles Carroll to come for, he picked up the pen and told the British exactly where to find him.
His name was Charles Carroll, and the colonies were crawling with men who shared it. His own father was Charles Carroll of Annapolis. So when the Declaration of Independence came to him for signing in 1776, a delegate made a cruel little joke. He said Carroll risked nothing by signing. There were so many Charles Carrolls that the King's men would never know which one to hang.
Carroll didn't argue. He leaned over the page and added three words to his signature: "of Carrollton." The name of his estate. His address. He was the only signer in the entire room who wrote down where he lived, and he did it on purpose, so that if the British wanted to come hang the traitor, they would know exactly which door to knock on.
That is who Charles Carroll of Carrollton was.
Here is what makes the moment even sharper. He was not a man with little to lose. He was the single wealthiest man in the thirteen colonies and the largest private landowner among them. While George Washington and John Hancock get talked about as rich men, it was Carroll who topped them all. When he signed, he was wagering the biggest personal fortune in America against a noose.
And he was the last man anyone would have expected to be there at all. Carroll was Catholic. In colonial Maryland, a colony founded as a Catholic refuge that had since turned on its own, Catholics could not vote. They could not hold public office. They could not worship in public. The most educated, wealthiest man in America was, in the eyes of the law, a second-class subject barred from the very government he was helping to create. He had spent seventeen years being educated by Jesuits in France and spoke five languages fluently, and back home he still could not legally cast a ballot.
So he became the only Catholic to sign the Declaration of Independence, putting his name on a revolution that he hoped would build a country with room for men like him. That was its own enormous bet, made by a man the existing system had already shut out.
Then he simply outlived everyone.
Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died on the same astonishing day, July 4, 1826, exactly fifty years after the Declaration. When they were gone, Charles Carroll of Carrollton was the last living signer left on earth. For six more years he was the final human link to that room in Philadelphia, the last hand that had signed, a living relic of the founding that ordinary Americans traveled to see and shake.
He finally died in November 1832 at the age of ninety-five, fifty-six years after he wrote his address on a treason document and dared the empire to come find him.
The richest man in America. The only Catholic. The last one standing. He had more to lose than any of them, every legal reason to stay quiet, and he signed his full address anyway.
We remember the names we were handed in school. We forget the man who made sure his couldn't be mistaken for anyone else's.

We have the right to abolish a destructive government, and it is past time that we do it. There is no government on earth that is more destructive than the US government.
Both parties have spent decades using our government to enrich themselves and their corporate donors at our expense.
They turned our government into a money laundering operation for corporations, billionaires, Israel, and the war machine, and the result has been worse than destructive; it has been catastrophic for the people at home and abroad.
There is not a single thing our government does well for the people because its entire purpose is to serve the rich.
The United States was founded on a revolution, and if it is to survive, we are going to need another one; only this time a proletarian one.

That is the core. Vacation is just the common vessel.
A child does not encode childhood as a spreadsheet of responsible parenting.
They encode atmosphere.
They remember the motel pool, the gas station stop, the smell of sunscreen, the weird restaurant, the long drive, the sunset, the parents laughing differently, the feeling that normal life cracked open and something larger appeared.
That is why ages 5 to 10 hit so hard. The child is old enough to form durable narrative memory and young enough for the world to remain enchanted. Parents still feel mythic. A beach, cabin, lake, theme park, road trip, or even a cheap rented house can become sacred geography.
The real mechanism is interruption of routine plus emotional safety.
Ordinary life teaches stability. Trips create myth. The family leaves the repeating loop of school, work, chores, screens, exhaustion, and time pressure. For a few days, the child experiences parents outside their normal roles. Mom and dad are no longer just managers of homework, food, discipline, bedtime, and logistics. They become companions inside an adventure.
That imprints.
The money matters far less than parents think. Luxury is mostly adult vanity. Children remember intensity, freedom, attention, surprise, and togetherness. A $200 trip can beat a $10,000 trip if the child feels wonder and the parents are emotionally present.
Many adults are starved because their childhood had no sacred interruptions. Everything was duty, stress, survival, noise, pressure, or emotional absence. No mythic family scenes. No private homeland in memory. No recurring proof that life could be warm and strange and alive.
That matters for the adult psyche. People draw from childhood memories during loneliness, fear, ambition, loss, and love. Those memories become inner architecture.
Deepest compression: a good childhood is not built only by protection. It is built by unforgettable shared worlds.
Take the kid somewhere. Break the loop.
Make the ordinary world disappear for a few days.
That becomes part of them forever.

Andrej Karpathy just mapped every job in the US economy by AI exposure. 342 occupations scored 0-10. The results are brutal for anyone who works on a screen.
Here's what the data shows:
1. 42% of all US jobs score 7 or higher for AI exposure. That's 59.9 million jobs. $3.7 trillion in annual wages sitting in the blast radius.
2. Software developers score 8-9. Financial analysts, accountants, management consultants, bookkeepers, customer service reps. All deep red. If your output is text, code, or spreadsheets, you're competing with something that doesn't sleep.
3. The safest jobs? Roofers. Plumbers. Electricians. Construction laborers. Nurses. Truck drivers. The jobs that require hands, not keyboards. All scored 0-3.
4. The weighted average across ALL 143 million US jobs is 4.9 out of 10. The entire economy is halfway exposed. Not a sector. Not an industry. The whole thing.
5. Education doesn't protect you. Bachelor's and master's degree holders are MORE exposed than trade certificate holders. The more your job is "thinking work" done on a computer, the higher your score.
Everyone spent 20 years telling kids to skip the trades and get a desk job. The desk job is what's getting automated first.

Scientists put kids through 100 hours of reading, then scanned their brains. New wiring had physically grown inside the language regions. Communication between brain areas sped up by a factor of 10. Kids who didn't read showed zero change.
That was a 2009 Carnegie Mellon study. It gets wilder.
In 2013, Emory University scanned 19 students every morning for 19 straight days while they read one novel chapter each night. Mornings after reading, the brain areas responsible for understanding other people's emotions lit up with new connections. So did the region that processes physical sensation. Their brains were simulating what the characters felt, as if it were happening to them. Those changes stuck around for 5 days after they finished the book.
Now flip to scrolling. A massive review published in Psychological Bulletin last September pulled together 71 studies covering 98,299 people. Heavy short-form video use (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) showed a clear pattern: worse attention, weaker self-control, and more anxiety. Consistent across teenagers and adults, across every platform tested. Oxford didn't name "brain rot" its 2024 Word of the Year for nothing.
A 2024 brain wave study found that people hooked on short-form video had weaker activity in the front of the brain, the part that controls focus and impulse control. Separate brain scans showed the same thing: heavy scrollers had less activation in the exact regions that deep reading strengthens.
UCLA neuroscientist Maryanne Wolf has been studying this for decades. Humans were never born to read. There's no gene for it. Reading is something we invented, and it hijacked neurons that were originally meant for recognizing faces. Over time, it built entirely new brain circuits connecting language, vision, and emotion. But those circuits only survive if you use them. Stop reading, and they fade. Wolf's conclusion is simple: screens built for speed produce a speed-wired brain. Books built for depth produce a depth-wired brain.
One honest caveat: most of these studies are snapshots, not long-term tracking. People who already struggle to focus might just prefer short videos. But the same pattern showing up across nearly 100,000 people is hard to shrug off.
