The whole “antizionism is/not antisemitism” argument is obsolete at this point - unnecessary and unproductive: 1. It is unnecessary because it has been already made abundantly clear and the vast majority do understand the difference between a political ideology and a religion. 2. It is unproductive because it bears no relevance to the urgent need to end Israel’s colonial violence. We must stop perpetuating this manipulative discourse by disengaging with it in comments and discussions with Zionists, who by the way are the main purveyors of this false conflation. They busy some of us with intellectual and etymological quandaries, forced to defend our morality, while they kill the rest of us. Even if the vast majority of Israelis who are overlooking this genocide are Jews, we are still entitled to be disgusted by and criticise Israel. The “antizionism is/not antisemitism” argument’s sole purpose is to centre Jewish feelings over Palestinian suffering and serve as a distraction from Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.
