✨ Member Success Story Spotlight: InspiriTec Behind everything our association stands for are the remarkable individuals who pour themselves into this work each and every day, and we're thrilled to shine a light on one of their stories. We invited our member organizations to help us honor the outstanding team members who elevate this field and make it what it is. Each story is a powerful testament to the purpose that drives this work and the talented, compassionate people who bring it to life. Meet: Robert Mata Customer Service Representative New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs (DCA) Contact Center "Most people attend postsecondary education, and/or enter the workforce, to prepare themselves to advance in a career. That didn’t happen for me. I completed a trade school program – in post-production editing for videos, TV shows, and movies – but it took me multiple tries to pass the exam. I also did some temporary jobs. My fortunes changed when I completed a computer training program through the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services. An instructor in the course mentioned InspiriTec. I applied and aced both interviews. On December 27, 2021, I started work as a Customer Service Representative on the DCA project. As a CSR for DCA, I support the application process for professionals seeking/maintaining licenses in New Jersey. I currently serve Home Improvement Contractors. InspiriTec is a friendly environment where I would like to continue my career. I feel welcomed, and I am recognized for the work I do. I won Rookie of the Year during Customer Service Week 2022. I believe I won, because I showed I was a quick learner. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, so I can serve our Spanish-speaking callers without a translator. Outside of work, I do karate. I tried different types, and did it on-and-off at first, because of COVID and financial issues. Since working at InspiriTec, I’ve had the money to continuously practice Shotokan. Watching 1990s Ninja Turtles movies sparked my interest in martial arts, but a psychologist I saw (I have ASD) convinced me to pursue it. It’s challenging, but very fun and rewarding. InspiriTec is fun and rewarding, too. I am proud of myself now. I know my mom, who died in January 2021 from COVID, would also be proud that I got a good job."

📢 Write to Your Legislators about the State Budget 📢 Right now, New Jersey's FY2027 budget decisions are being made, and thousands of people with disabilities are counting on us to speak up. More than 1,800 New Jerseyans with significant intellectual and developmental disabilities rely on Extended Employment, Supported Employment, and Direct Support Professionals to access meaningful work and daily structure. But funding cuts and instability are putting these critical services at risk. We need the FY2027 budget to: ✅ Restore and stabilize Extended Employment slot value funding ✅ Protect Supported Employment reimbursement rates through DVRS programs ✅ Secure ongoing wage funding for Direct Support Professionals . We are calling on advocates, families, providers, and allies to take action. Your voice can make a difference, and it only takes a minute ‼️Email your NJ legislators with our form today and urge them to stand with people with disabilities: hubs.la/Q04gjKM-0

✨ Member Success Story Spotlight: Abilities Solutions The true strength of our association lies in the people who make it happen, the dedicated professionals who bring passion and purpose to their work every day. Today, we're excited to share one of their stories. We called on our member organizations to help us spotlight the standout staff who make this field so extraordinary. These stories are a powerful reminder of the 'who' behind the work, and the heart, talent, and drive they bring to it: Yolanda Bergen-Garland Work Supervisor - Abilities Solutions "Yolanda Bergen-Garland, Work Supervisor, started at Abilities Solutions in 2014 as a service recipient, completing a Vocational Evaluation followed by an Extended Employment (EE) program. She remained in EE for eight years consistently increasing her technical skills, her productivity, and developing her soft skills. Along the way, her natural supports also strengthened, allowing her to overcome barriers to her employment success. While in EE, Yolanda often expressed her love of helping other EE clients learn new tasks, and she actively began taking initiative to learn the role of a Work Supervisor. Once an opening became available, she applied without hesitation. Yolanda was hired as a full-time Work Supervisor in 2023. Despite discouraging challenges that have arisen, Yolanda has overcome each obstacle with support from her work family! Yolanda brings a unique perspective to her role, understanding both the client and staff viewpoints. She has continued to grow and evolve as a professional and is an instrumental part of training clients to complete state use contract work. Yolanda is a shining example of how difficult times can reveal inner strength and self-confidence, leading to resilience and professional success." #ACCSESNJ #MissionandImpact #ProfessionalDevelopment
Employment isn't just a paycheck. It's dignity. It's purpose. It's belonging. 💙 According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the unemployment rate for people with disabilities is more than twice that of people without disabilities at 8.8% vs. 4.1% (2025 annual averages). That gap isn't acceptable. And it isn't inevitable. At ACCSES New Jersey, our mission is simple: every purchase has a purpose. We connect government customers to a network of nonprofit agencies that hire talented people with disabilities, delivering quality products and services at competitive prices, while expanding opportunity and access to the American dream. ✅ Competitive, integrated employment ✅ A more inclusive workforce ✅ Real impact with every contract Progress is being made. But awareness and advocacy still matter, and so does where and how we choose to do business. If your organization is looking to make your procurement dollars count, for people, not just profits, we'd love to connect. 🌐 hubs.la/Q04dsgF00 📊hubs.la/Q04ds9TV0 #DisabilityEmployment #InclusiveHiring #StateProcurement #NewJersey #MissionandImpact #Procurement #StateContract
🌸 Spring is here, and so is allergy season Pollen counts are rising, and if your HVAC filter hasn't been changed recently, your indoor air quality may be making symptoms worse, not better. When HVAC filters go unchanged, allergens, pollen, and airborne particles circulate freely through your facility, impacting the health, comfort, and productivity of your entire workforce. For agencies responsible for the wellbeing of employees and the public, that's a risk worth addressing now. We carry Brookaire filters to keep your air clean and your space comfortable all season long. ✅On New Jersey State Contract ✅ Made in the USA ✅ Bulk & contract purchasing available ✅ Ideal for offices, federal buildings & public facilities ✅ Supports your agency's social impact goals ✅ Streamlined quoting process for procurement teams ✅ Every order supports meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities 📩 Reach out for a quote: [email protected] #ACCSESNJ #StateProcurement
