Before our hike, cadre read passages from Mao’s Little Red Book aloud, reminding us of the great sacrifices that were taken in order for a better, brighter future to unfold. We as communists must carry that responsibility, honoring that memory by being good stewards and unrelenting fighters for the working class. As Mao said, revolution is not a dinner party. In our experience, part of it is soaking through your shirt in 90% humidity, carefully crossing rushing floodwaters that cut off your path, and learning how to identify flora and fauna.

The Red Army’s Long March campaign under the leadership of Mao Zedong is one of the most incredible and inspiring stories in all of world history, seeming almost too good to be true. A torturous 10,000km journey that saw over 100,000 soldiers reduced to just 8,000 over the course of one year. And yet despite all the loss and struggle and suffering, it paved the way for the eventual victory of the Communist Party over the Nationalist Kuomintang during the Chinese Civil War and the birth of a new China. In the ACP, we can’t help ourselves from thinking of and reflecting upon this almost mythical story any time we pack up and go out together into nature. Texas has been blessed with plenty of rain in the recent months, so our Austin area members were eager to enjoy the greenbelt before it inevitably turns into the brownbelt as we move deeper into summer and temperatures soar.

America’s veterans & soldiers deserve a country that wields their sacrifices for the working class, not for the wars & whims of bankers and their puppets in government. The Southern Region of ACP Texas volunteered to support veterans services & made donations to a transitional housing non-profit organization, “Warriors Refuge”. In total, we donated over $200 worth of groceries and hygiene supplies that are much needed for American Veterans who are struggling to make ends meet. We mopped & cleaned the floors of the facility, helped prepare meals for lunch and dinner in the kitchen, and moved bed boxes. With many veterans struggling to find a home and economic stability in a chaotic decaying empire, organizations like Warriors Refuge are vital for the survival and health of veterans in small town communities like West Columbia in South Texas. ACP stands firmly against U.S. imperialism, the U.S. military industrial & cybernetic system, & the Zionist ideology guiding Western foreign policy; we do not support foreign entanglements launched abroad by U.S. empire. However, we understand the average soldier is not culpable for the systemic decisions of imperialism at its highest and most rotten stage. In many cases, joining military service is the only way out of poverty for struggling Americans. Our political stance is firm. We believe America needs to bring back stable jobs, housing for all, and a sense of community which doesn't leave people behind, while focusing our resources at home instead of getting involved in forever foreign wars. And we believe America’s heroes will be forged in the fight for America’s political sovereignty here at home, not as pawns for the Epstein regime in countries fighting for their own sovereignty. ACP, nationally and in Texas, will continue to fight for this sovereign future for the working class of America.

The American Communist Party of Texas joined veterans, families, and working people for Victory Day in Dallas to remember the shared victory over fascism and keep alive a simple lesson from history: friendship between peoples, peace between nations, and never another world war.

The Birth of Sovintern: A New Communist International

In collaboration with the national Victory Day Organizing Committee, ACP NY hosted a major Victory Day celebration in Brighton Beach, heart of the largest post-Soviet community in the United States. We honored the legacy of the Soviets and Americans who united to crush fascism.

This weekend in Dallas, ACP TX was proud to host, alongside VDOC & the local Russian/ex-Soviet community, a memorial & celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory Day, the defeat of Nazi Germany and the triumph of the historic Soviet-American anti-fascist alliance. We held a memorial program at Red Bird Landing in South Dallas, and a memorial dinner at Bubala Cafe & Grill, where we captured the spirit of sacrifice & anti-fascist brotherhood that old allies built together by sharing speeches, poetry, and live music. Sincere gratitude to our friends at Red Bird & Bubala for opening their spaces to us. We honored the 27 million Soviet citizens & soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the defense of their motherland, and we honored the spirit of the Elbe, when American and Soviet soldiers embraced in 1945 and swore to block the fascist’s way to war. Internationalism, made real in blood and brotherhood. To celebrate Victory Day and these fraternal bonds is to take responsibility for what has been lost here at home. The sense of honor. The productive forces & industrial muscle. The memory of working people’s sacrifice. The very idea that Americans and Russians once stood as brothers against fascism, a history now buried under decades of anti-communist erasure. Honoring that past, and translating that into a call to action for today, is our duty as American working people, and especially our duty as communist partisans. The revolutionary and humanist spirit that won WWII, exemplified in American-Soviet collaboration, still needs new champions today, as we organize ourselves to fight the bipartisan fascist scourge rotting our country from the inside out. We refuse to forget this history. And we commit ourselves to rediscovering this history as we rediscover what it means to be an American. That sense of lost purpose that we’re organizing to find & rebuild is inextricably colored by socialist purpose and fraternity with communist kin. Eternal memory to those who crushed fascism in 1945. We’re still holding the line today, side by side with our Russian brothers & sisters.

The crimes of the Epstein class have so far gone unpunished, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be defeated. The American Communist Party calls for a popular front to end the occupation of our country, and to establish justice and popular sovereignty!
