You are absorbing another person’s position. You should be getting an additional percentage of pay. This is common—check contract. Good luck.

If I have a concern about something at my kid’s school… I should: A. Post about it on social media OR B. Contact someone at the school who can actually do something about it (I’m gonna go with B!)
We do a much better job of teaching our students when we first take the time to understand our students. Understanding their background, their experiences, their challenges, and their joys goes a long way toward building a classroom culture that fosters meaningful learning.
Here are my #firstday suggestions: 1. Randomly put Ss in groups as the walk in the door. Choosing where to sit is stressful for Ss. 2. Do NOT go over the syllabus. 3. Have a highly engaging, well-planned, hands-on challenge. #STEM Here is mine: bit.ly/3SEJ81h
