@LarisVrahimis @KatyMontgomerie It really doesn't. If an element is born with 92 protons it's uranium, and that's what we use to define it. Are you saying if it lost some protons it's still uranium? That's called radiation. elements change in nature, and what you have one day may be different tomorrow.

@StewieScot @DanNeidle There is also a problem where the threshold has not risen in the last 13 years or so. 50k was a lot more back then.
@StewieScot @DanNeidle The problem isn't the 50k as such, the main problem is the inequality as it's based on single income not household. So I could be earning 55k and my partner nothing and we'd be paying the tax, while a family down the street with two incomes of 49k would not.
