Carboxylic acids have a very broad peak at 2500-3300 to represent the O-H group + a sharp peak at 1680-1750 to represent the C=O group.
Aldehydes and ketones have a peak at 1680-1750 this represents the C=O bond
Alcohols have a peak at 3230-3500 - this represents the O-H group.
