Trump’s signing an executive order today creating a “Military Spouse Commission” advisory board that doesn’t change a single law, fund a single program, or put one new benefit in the hands of military families. And Pete Hegseth’s wife is the chair. It’s a workaround from our corrupt government to “legitimize” her tagging along on her husband’s official trips while having her travel, lodging, meals, and other expenses reimbursed through the Defense Department’s budget. Just another fucking scam.

I can’t fully explain to younger people how cool the internet used to be. We had open forums, personal websites, weird experimental pages, and chaotic corners of the web, before Amazon, Google, and Meta turned it into a sterile, closed ecosystem of clutter, and commerce.

This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America.       Trump’s DOJ just shut down a federal investigation into a coal company owned by Sen. Jim Justice, one of his closest allies, after it racked up tens of thousands of alleged violations for dumping dangerous chemicals into our waterways. A veteran federal prosecutor with 24 years on the job said he had never seen anything like it.      The man who killed the case was Todd Blanche, Trump’s former personal defense lawyer and current Acting Attorney General. This is the same guy who just gave Trump, his family, and his companies permanent immunity from IRS audits. Now Trump wants the Senate to make Blanche’s appointment permanent too.      Equal justice under law was never supposed to come with exceptions for the President’s friends.      The pattern isn’t subtle: protect Trump’s friends, prosecute his critics, and get rewarded with more power. ICE spent over $1 billion buying 11 warehouses to cage human beings. Now it’s quietly trying to sell or give away seven of them, more than $700 million gone, with not a single facility open and an inspector general investigation hanging over the whole mess. This is the waste they swore they were elected to root out. The fraud, the abuse, the blank check spent without a plan. They bought industrial buildings at up to $145 million apiece, before renovations, with no environmental review, no community buy-in, and no real strategy for what came next. Even Republican officials told them to stop. Taxpayers are left holding the bill for warehouses that detained no one and accomplished nothing but fear. It’s total hypocrisy. An administration that lectured the country about efficiency lit $700 million on fire as part of Stephen Miller’s cruel fantasy of mass detention. Imagine what that money could have done for veterans waiting on housing, for families crushed by costs, for the working people they claim to serve. I’m glad this plan is dying. So to clarify. Qatar donated a roughly $400 million luxury “flying palace” to the US government as an unconditional gift. We, the taxpayers then paid as much as $1 billion dollars in retrofits to strip it down, add high grade secure communications, and defense systems, so it can serve as Air Force One. The upgraded plane flies trump for the remainder of his term. Then it gets transferred to the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation no later than early 2029. At what point exactly are we supposed to stop noticing that a foreign government’s expensive gift, heavily subsidized and transformed at taxpayer expense, ends up as an asset controlled by trump’s own foundation? I’m sure it’s nothing.

Everyone on the right got pissed off when I noticed the state of the art circulation and filtration system Obama had added to the Reflecting Pool 16 years ago was removed by Trump. Now we find out that Trump *did* remove it. This isn't hard to deduce. Anything Obama did will be removed and destroyed. We paid good money for that system only to be charged $14 million to have the pool painted and the filtration system removed. This was a money laundering scheme. Nothing more.

She has been logging 47 hours per week. She has been paid for 40. For 156 consecutive weeks. Three years. The system owes her $6,300. She brought a notebook. A composition book. All burglaries: $3.4 billion. All larcenies: $5.4 billion. All motor vehicle thefts: $7.5 billion. Every piece of property stolen by every criminal in America totals $16.8 billion. Wage theft is three times that. I learned this at a compliance industry seminar in 2022. The slide was titled "Market Opportunity." The room had 340 people. Everybody wrote it down. Nobody left. The Department of Labor has 611 investigators for 165 million workers. That is one investigator for every 278,000 workers. It is a 52-year staffing low. There were more investigators in 1973. Last year, the DOL recovered $259 million. That is 0.5% of what was taken. We call the 0.5% enforcement. We call the other 99.5% the correction window. That's a correction. The same week Destiny stole $87 from register 4, an employer in Houston withheld $340,000 in wages from 280 workers over two years. The Department of Labor assessed a civil penalty of $14,000. The employer paid it the way you pay a parking ticket. The employer is still operating. The employer does not have a record. Destiny will have hers when she is twenty-nine. She will have it when she is thirty-nine. She will carry it into every job interview for the rest of her life. The employer will carry a correction. My daughter turned nineteen last month. I spent $87 on her birthday dinner. I was typing Maria's ticket number into the system when I thought about that and my hands stopped on the keyboard for a moment I cannot explain to you except to say that $87 is a very specific number when you have processed 11,400 corrections and not one of them has been referred for criminal prosecution. The category does not exist in my system. I have looked. There is Compliance Remediation. There is Classification Adjustment. There is Closed — No Further Action. There is no category called Theft. I looked. It is not there. That's a correction. The correction queue closes tickets in ninety days. A closed ticket is not an open crime. The window closes the case before the worker opens one. Every quarter I present the metrics. The number of corrections is rising. We present this as improved compliance. The slide is green. Green means we are catching more theft. We are catching more theft because there is more theft. The slide does not show the second number. The slide is green because we designed the slide. $87 is a felony. $6,300 is a ticket. $340,000 is a correction. $50 billion is a slide.
