@ObtainerOf Basketball absolutely does. You've got a ton of 5'11 and shorter PGs who have the athletic traits a soccer player needs but didn't grow tall enough to make it in basketball.

@HudginsCha67088 @JETurp @angelhoneycomb You can definitely say he might have been overworked but Antonio Brown, Randall Cobb, Marvin Harrison, and like a million other guys played around that size. Its not ideal size but its nowhere near too small.

@HudginsCha67088 @JETurp @angelhoneycomb I agree that NFL players can be unable to handle the physicality, sometimes because of size, but I think Odell is not one of those guys. I can't find a single draft write up saying he was too light. The average NFL receiver is like 6' 200lbs.

@HudginsCha67088 @JETurp @angelhoneycomb Odell had freak injuries though. Two ACL tears and a broken ankle weren't a weight issue. Devonta Smith is like 165 and has only missed a few games. Jamar Chase only weighs 3 pounds more than Odell and I don't think anyone says he's too small.

@HudginsCha67088 @JETurp @angelhoneycomb Almost all football deaths are heat related or undiscovered congenital heart issues. Odell is nowhere near the smallest guy that's played in the league. Rondale Moore is 5'7" 180.

@davis_rubel @BOC_Gamecock When pads became a thing a first down was 5 yards and there was no forward pass. These kinds of mass plays were how you moved the ball. Your linemen would run laterally, you'd pitch it to the Fullback and he would follow the O-line crashing into the defense.

That's because Mailata came from a sport with transferable skills and is freakishly athletic. Bernard was in the NFL international development pipeline for two years before he was drafted. Soccer doesn't take more skill across the board, it just has less in common with any other major sport.

@davis_rubel @BOC_Gamecock I mean, pads and the forward pass were specifically refors Teddy Roosevelt pushed to open up the game more because of the frequent deaths that resupted from "mass play" like the flying wedge.

@kudi_100 @WIZEINTHEBEAT I mean its not out of their control when they decide to use the team as a platform for their political ideals, which is a turn off for a lot of the demographic that makes sports profitable.

@PaulSkallas In many other countries the white colonial elite were still sending their children to Europe for education when soccer was rising while the U.S. had its own universities.

@SMUFBOffense @AdmiralBear01 The Champion's league final got 4 million U.S. viewers at its peak. Any given week Sunday Night Football is drawing 23.5 million viewers. Also, if they're rooting for the Mexican national team, they'd probably abandon USMNT for Mexico, as has happened multiple times already.

@TonyQui97635330 @Synthiandrakon @NorthFultonJP There is a baseline level of speed and/or quickness to be successful at most positions on a professional soccer field that is well above the average human's capabilities. A slow professional soccer player is still far faster than a typical man his age.

@ShujoBoi I think you're ignoring that you only know the play for your team though. You still have to react to what the other side is doing.
