1 /5 — THE FAMILY BUSINESS ON THE BIG BUILD There is a company called Nilsen. Most Victorians have never heard of it. Founded in Melbourne in 1916, it has been in the same family for four generations. Today it is chaired by great-grandson Oliver Mark Nilsen. Annual revenue: $499 million. It is one of Australia’s largest electrical contracting businesses. It is a Victorian company. A family company. And it works on some of the biggest government projects in this state’s history. Nilsen’s own website tells you exactly what it has worked on. The Melbourne Metro Tunnel, originally budgeted at $11 billion, ultimately costing $15.5 billion, a 42% blowout, opened February 2026. Nilsen delivered electrical works on it. The North East Link, Victoria’s largest road project, an $11.1 billion Primary Package PPP awarded to the Spark consortium in 2021, tunnelling commenced 2024. Nilsen won the electrical fit-out contract for the TBM tunnels, including power, lighting, communications, control systems, fire safety and emergency response for the entire tunnel system. Both projects are Victorian Government Big Build programs. Both funded by Victorian taxpayers. Now open the Victorian Ministerial Register of Interests, a public document, tabled in Parliament twice a year, available on the Victorian Government website at vic.gov.au. Under Ben Carroll’s declaration, Section 12, Other Interests, it reads in plain text: “Father-in-law, Board Member, Oliver J Nilsen (Australia) Pty Ltd.” Ben Carroll is married into the Nilsen family. His father-in-law sits on the board of the same company that delivered the electrical systems for the Metro Tunnel and won the North East Link electrical fit-out contract. From June 2020 to October 2023, Carroll was the Minister for Public Transport. He held that role while both projects were under active construction. Project Definition Plans, the documents that lock in scope, schedule and budget, are signed off at ministerial level. The Victorian Auditor-General found the Metro Tunnel’s contingency was being drawn down faster than expected and that risk-sharing arrangements with the private consortium had been re-cut after financial close. Carroll was the minister responsible. From December 2024 Carroll became Minister for WorkSafe, the regulator responsible for safety compliance on every Big Build construction site. Including the North East Link tunnels where Nilsen is currently delivering electrical fit-out works. The Victorian Ministerial Code of Conduct requires that any minister with a private interest that creates a perceived, potential or actual conflict with their ministerial responsibilities must disclose it to the Premier and submit a conflict management plan. Carroll declared the interest. What conflict management plan exists, what decisions he stood aside from, and how his family connection was managed across three years as the minister directly overseeing these projects, none of that appears in the public record. He is now challenging to be Premier of Victoria. None of it is illegal. That’s the problem. What’s your thoughts…? Australians of colonial descent - the first and second fleeters whose ancestors built this country - are told to 'go back to Britain' FREQUENTLY, often by politicians and people who just arrived in this country. It's racist. It's offensive. And it is completely normalised by the Left. It's sometimes chanted in the middle of aggressive street protest where statues are torn down and vile slogans - such as 'pay the rent' and 'the colonies must fall' - are endorsed by politicians. Is this not offensive? Is it not intimidation? Is it not racist? It's not even condemned by universities - Western institutions that would not exist if it weren't for colonialism. There are no protections for Australians. They are fodder for hostile and aggressive decolonial activists who come to tear down the country they seek sanctuary in. It's no wonder an entire generation feels abused and forgotten by those who are meant to represent them.

I am disappointed that the Federal Court has rejected my appeal relating to the claim against me by the Greens’ Senator Faruqi.   My legal team and I will now closely review the decision in the coming days, with a view to commencing an appeal in the High Court of Australia.

I am disappointed that the Federal Court has rejected my appeal relating to the claim against me by the Greens’ Senator Faruqi.   My legal team and I will now closely review the decision in the coming days, with a view to commencing an appeal in the High Court of Australia.   Public discussion in Australia has become almost totally silenced by laws and rules which prevent ordinary people expressing their personal views in case some small part of our society takes some sort of offence or feels hurt or “distressed”. This has never been, nor ever should be, the Australian way.   We all need to have the courage – and the freedom – to say what we think on issues that are important to us all. Some of those views may not be what certain people would like to hear, but that doesn’t mean that they are not valid views, and it certainly doesn’t mean that people should be prevented from having a voice on topics which are critical to our country’s future.   I was incensed by the incredible disrespect that I felt was shown to our late Queen on the day of her death by Senator Fahruqi and others. I simply wanted to call that out.   For me, respect for our institutions of Government; for our collective moral compass; and for the principles – including respect for our Head of State – which together have shaped this wonderful nation, are vital attributes which all Australians should embrace.   If people in Australia are scared or forbidden to freely express themselves, then those values are eroded. I am here to fight for all Australians to ensure that such a dark day never comes.   I sincerely thank all those who continue to support me in this legal process.

@heidimur Allan is just proving her selfish and deluded thought process. To believe she is still a viable option for Premier at the next election is just madness. It is such mentality by her that has caused Victoria to be in the disgraceful mess that it is currently in.

It's hilarious watching the 'morally pure' leftwing media defend using taxpayer money to keep their failing publications alive while the conservative press have to survive in the free market of ideas with subscription services. That money - that Labor handed out - must be returned. And then they can make the $1 billion ABC a subscription service while they're at it. Buying off Labor-friendly media without telling anyone is an utter disgrace. And we're still waiting for clarity on whether or not political bot armies are being used by Labor-friendly activist groups to distort the public forum.
