Today, Dr. Rod Rosenbladt left this vale of tears and entered the presence of Jesus, his Savior and Lord. He will be deeply and dearly missed. Consider this story about Rod. Many years ago, in 2008, when I was alone, depressed, and in a very dark place, an email popped up in my inbox from a man whom I knew only by name: Rod Rosenbladt. He had heard of my struggles from a friend. So he reached out. Just like that. He encouraged me. He relayed a bit of his own story. And, he told me that if I needed “some guy to yell to, cry to, think alongside of, or just about anything else,” that he was there for me. That. He. Was. There. For. Me. You don’t forget a man like that. For the last few years, I have been honored and privileged to work for 1517, the organization that never would have happened were it not for the teaching, impact, and influence of Rod. I thank Jesus for Rod, who taught the Gospel to countless students, was “Dad Rod” to so many, and has left behind a legacy here that will bear fruit for generations. Rest in Peace, my friend.

@gretje @garonnevik As a Father of 3 Christian public school teachers, at the preschool, elementary, and high school level, I love this. I am so proud of them. All teachers face their own unique challenges. We need to keep them regularly in our prayers.

When God Became an Embryo Today is March 25. That means Christmas is nine months away. It also means today is the celebration of the Annunciation. God becomes no bigger than a dot to save a cosmos. He doesn't just send a child to do a man's job. He sends an embryo to do a God's job. Jesus did not come down to earth to walk a mile in our shoes. He chose to live for the rest of eternity in our skin. The incarnation was not an internship. If there was ever any doubt about God's commitment to humanity, the incarnation removed that doubt. For the joy set before him, Jesus entered the womb, suffered through puberty, fought the good fight, endured the cross, exploded the tomb. For what joy? For the joy of calling you brother and sister, flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone. For the joy of your salvation. It all began inside a virgin, when God became a man forever. And thus he is our brother, our kinsman redeemer, the God who would move heaven and earth to save us.

I just read Chapter 10 - Alone, Unsuspecting, and Asleep of @birdchadlouis “Limping with God”. What an incredible illustration of discipleship! And to read it in light of Chad and his family’s recent mourning makes it even more powerful. Thank you Chad. We are praying for you.

Luke is my son, a baptized, beloved child of God. We grieve, we grieve deeply, but as those who place our hope in the One who is the Resurrection and the Life. Luke was everything a father would want in a son, and so much more. He was, and remains, a gift of God to us all.

My lead pastor (of 2 pastors at my church) was just diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He is also the primary caregiver for his wife with advanced MS. They and our church could used some prayers right now.

FINAL: Incredible comeback by the Cardinals and gutsy shot from junior guard Myles Sansted. His three in the final seconds wins it 66-64 over Richfield to send Alexandria to the Class AAA title game on Saturday. For those who haven't seen this team, that's what Sansted does.
