My uncertain recollections were transformed into definitive statements in the official FD-302 later used against me. Let me explain how fucked up the new Flynn FBI notes really are. January 24, 2017: two agents interview General Michael Flynn in the White House. They take handwritten notes in the room. Those notes just got declassified. They show Flynn hedging, not remembering, saying things like he didn’t recall 4–5 calls from the Dominican Republic and “Hey don’t do anything” on the Kislyak conversation. Then, more than 20 days later, the official FD-302 — the document they used to charge him — says the opposite on key points. Suddenly he “remembered” the calls. Suddenly it “wasn’t ‘don’t do anything.’” That’s not a typo. Strzok and Page were in the texts talking about rewriting a sloppy 302. Leadership had already been told the field office wanted the case CLOSED because there was no derogatory Russia evidence. Priestap’s own notes asked the question out loud: are we after the truth, or are we trying to get him to lie so we can prosecute him or get him fired? They interviewed him without the normal warning. They kept the White House in the dark. They used a process crime because they didn’t have an underlying spy case. Then they squeezed a guilty plea out of a man they had already decided to take off the board. Flynn wasn’t the target. Trump was the target. Flynn was the example. He lost his job, his reputation, his savings, and years of his life. Trump pardoned him. DOJ later cut a check. That is not justice. That is damage control. A former RNLI crew member has contacted me after yesterday’s post, and what they told me deserves attention. They say they spent over a decade at a south-east station and that morale has collapsed, with experienced volunteers walking away because they no longer want to be involved in repeated migrant operations. They also claim crews can know they are being launched for migrant boats before even boarding, and say some volunteers are refusing to take part. Huge credit to the former RNLI crew member who reached out after yesterday’s post. I appreciate them speaking openly about what they say is happening inside the service. If anyone else currently serving or formerly with the RNLI has seen the same thing, message me. These accounts need to be heard. And to the volunteers refusing to take part in bringing unknown military-aged men into Britain when they believe the system is being abused, I salute you. To those who keep going along with it regardless, wake up.

One senior credit analyst told the FT "we still treat OpenAI and Anthropic as deep in speculative grade. They are in the red." Previous tech companies like Meta, Netflix, and Tesla waited a decade or more. My Take An investment-grade rating means pension funds and insurers can buy this debt. Meaning your retirement money and your insurance premiums flowing into two companies that have never turned a profit. The bankers' argument is that the IPO itself will fix the balance sheet, but credit is supposed to measure whether a company can pay its debts from operations, not whether it can sell enough stock to cover that gap. Everyone in this chain needs these ratings to go through. Nvidia has $105 billion in credit support for an OpenAI data center that terminates when OpenAI gets a "satisfactory credit rating." Oracle is one notch above junk after financing OpenAI's $300 billion data center buildout. Google and Broadcom extended tens of billions to back Anthropic's chip usage. If the rating agencies stamp two unprofitable companies as investment grade so that pension funds can hold the debt, I think we need to have a serious conversation about what those ratings mean anymore. We need to wait to find out if this is true. But if it is, then this would be the second time a nerve agent has been used on British soil by Russia in less than a decade. The circumstances today are also very different from 2018. It would doubtless prompt a much firmer reaction

Brookfield followed with $1.2 billion in July. Now Blue Owl Capital wants to package $6.5 billion of its own data centers into a publicly traded fund. While Blue Owl is building this new vehicle for retail investors, its own credit fund just watched a loan collapse from full value at year end to 5 cents on the dollar in six months. Moody's flagged a possible bankruptcy. My Take If that many firms rush to sell the same type of asset to retail investors at the same time, I don't think it's because they believe the best returns are still ahead. I think they've done the math on what these assets are worth today versus what they'll be worth in two years and they'd rather you hold that risk. Blue Owl is doing this while their own credit fund just blew up on a single loan. Loparex isn't a data center, but it's the same Blue Owl team picking investments. Their stock is down almost 30% this year and trades at 99x earnings. If I'm a retail investor being asked to buy into a $6.5 billion data center fund, I want to know why the people running it couldn't see a loan going from par to 5 cents in their own portfolio.
