@mfjlewis @Xtopher_Uzo Their charism doesn’t defy the Apostolic See. And from what I can tell, I cannot find anywhere where the FSSP in my diocese have refused to concelebrate the Chrism. They’re on very good terms with their current (Francis appointee) bishop, and former (JPII appointee) bishop.

@mfjlewis @Xtopher_Uzo Thank you. And I’m saying TLMers have done nothing under Francis’ pontificate to merit TC. Had a TLMer bayoneted Pope Francis, his response would be to excommunicate any priest on suspicion of possibly owning a cassock. I prefer PP JPII’s pastoral approach.

@mfjlewis @Xtopher_Uzo Well, it definitely violates the charisms of their respective Societies, but I think they should make exceptions for Chrism Masses. It’s immaterial of course because again, TC restricted diocesan TLMs.

I agree there is a large contingent of the Traditionalist community (the vast majority of which are not in communion with Rome), who are agitators and make promoting the TLM more difficult for us

@mfjlewis @Xtopher_Uzo For what it’s worth, I certainly think they should concelebrate the diocesan Chrism Mass, and I won’t defend their decision not to, even if it violates their charisms. Then again, it doesn’t really have to do with diocesan TLMs, only the Ecclesia Dei communities.
