It’s important to remember that I don’t do this for money, I do this cuz it’s my passion. (Though I understand that I need money to live xd )
And it’s frightening what we hear. “AI is going to replace u” “there are no jobs” “junior have no place in the industry anymore” “ghost job offers” “studios scrambling” I feel like this is not the type of things that help us grow, it just makes people want to quit.
I feel like this tweet is a shot of encouragement. I have spend my last 3 years studying animation, it always have felt like a very big gamble cuz in someway, this is my only path rn, it’s an all in for a big bounty (making a life out of my passion) +
I get why people are frustrated. It’s brutal out there, especially for juniors. But I don’t think the industry is “in shambles.” I think it’s contracting, consolidating, and correcting after years of over-expansion. That’s not new. This industry has always moved in cycles.
This is a cool exercise, I would love to make a cape flowing in the air someday (I’m just procrastinating at this point)
