This Jay Singh Rathore incident is not something to laugh about. India is already a low-trust society. People don’t easily trust strangers, even when someone genuinely needs help. There are so many students who need financial help for their education because they can’t afford it. But when people misuse that trust and turn it into a scam, they don’t just cheat one person. They make everyone more hesitant to help the next person. Look at Dubai. You can leave a gold chain on road and there’s a much higher expectation that people won’t touch it. That kind of trust doesn’t come from nowhere. It comes from a society where people believe others will do the right thing.

Shark Tank is a reality show. Most of the judges are failed entrepreneurs themselves, running businesses that are either struggling or in losses, except for one or two. One gets notice every time he tries to fly abroad. Another couldn’t even take his company to the IPO stage. And 90% of the companies featured are just aloo bhujia, achar, papad-type businesses, backed by emotional Tier-2-town background music. The whole thing feels extremely mediocre.

I don’t understand this VIP treatment of celebrities and the whole VIP culture at Pooja pandals. On one side, common people are treated like a herd of animals. On the other, someone who pays extra money or has influence gets treated better. Can’t we keep at least one place away from this discrimination? Don’t turn worship into a business. Darshan shouldn’t have a “priority pass” system like boarding a flight.

People enter politics promising to represent the common man. They talk about development, poverty, jobs, and public welfare. Yet, the moment some of them gain power, the conversation shifts to luxury cars, VIP access, lavish lifestyles, and proximity to billionaires. There is nothing wrong with being successful or enjoying luxury. But politics was meant to be about public service, not a shortcut to a life of privilege. The question isn't who owns the Rolls-Royce. It's why we have normalised the idea that power should come with a lifestyle most ordinary citizens can only dream of. Public office should be a responsibility, not a luxury upgrade.

This is why I think loyalty should come after growth, not before it. Do your best work, but don’t assume your company will automatically reward it. Keep building your skills, relationships, and market value outside your current role too. The moment you stop learning and start depending on one company to recognise your worth, you give away a lot of control.

You open an account with ICICI, IDFC, or HDFC and you get a relationship manager. You have an issue and you know who to call. There’s someone responsible for getting it sorted. But go to SBI, PNB, CBI, or any other government bank. You could have ₹100 crore in your account and still end up moving from one counter to another, dealing with rude employees and a system that feels completely disorganised. What’s stopping these banks from offering the same level of service as private banks?

One of my friends lives in a posh area. This week, people put up a pandal and started blasting DJs at extremely high volume. His parents are both heart patients and have hypertension, and they have been facing problems because of the noise. He tried everything, from closing the doors and windows to installing soundproofing panels, but nothing worked. He had to move his parents to a hotel for a week just to escape the noise. I am a devotional person myself, but how do you deal with situations like this in India?

Why does every government building, flyover, and public structure need to be covered in red, blue, and green LED lights? It looks so cheap and unaesthetic. These people put colourful LEDs everywhere and call it beautification. At least use warm white lighting and follow international standards for public architecture. The govt babus need to move beyond this dehat mindset when it comes to urban design.

Saw people posting, “Don’t buy an iPhone worth ₹3 lakh. At that price, you can buy a bike, go to Dubai, and come back.” You need to understand that you are not the target audience for that product. People who can afford a ₹3 lakh iPhone have already taken care of their basic needs. For them, buying an expensive phone isn’t a financial decision they need to feel guilty about. Stop telling people what they should buy just because you can’t afford it.

X retired its money reward program today. Large number of people are going to lose their side hustle in India. People who rage-baited, targeted others, turned everything into news, and posted daily to make a few bucks. I know people who created 8–9 accounts and were making ₹20–30K from each account. People were easily making ₹30–40K a month from X. Many students made good bucks with this program. That free money is gone now.

Delhi is one major earthquake away from a disaster. This is the city where the Parliament, Prime Minister’s Office and major government ministries are located. It has become one of India’s most poorly planned cities, with illegal construction, weak drainage, constant fire risks and basements being used for coaching institutes, colleges and other businesses. Delhi doesn’t deserve to be the capital anymore.

SUGAR Cosmetics did around ₹405 crore in revenue and made a loss of around ₹134 crore. Its founder sits on Shark Tank India. Meanwhile, Sita Ram Diwan Chand started by selling chole bhature from a bicycle in Paharganj in the 1950s. Today, the business has expanded to multiple outlets across Delhi NCR. But sadly, the person running a business like this is unlikely to be invited to a Shark Tank panel or celebrated as an entrepreneur. Because we have made entrepreneurship about aesthetics, English, funding and social media presence.

One of my clients was paying income tax very close to this amount. I suggested he move his base to Dubai. It took him 2–3 years to migrate properly. He moved his company, banking, and everything else to Dubai. Now he’s not only saving significantly on income tax, but his quality of life has also improved massively.

India’s top businessmen are selling Campa Cola, Tata Salt and Adani Wilmar mustard oil. In the US, the biggest companies are Apple, SpaceX and Meta. You can see the difference in priorities. Western societies have built a culture around technology, science, innovation and taking business risks. Indian youth are mostly focused on building a dhandha, getting an IT job or preparing for a government job. We lack the scientific temperament and risk-taking mindset needed to build more technology and science-driven businesses.

Around 15 family members on an IndiGo flight served homemade Indian snacks on disposable plates. They collected the waste in a plastic bag and cleaned up without the crew’s help. Good that they cleaned up, but they missed the first point of civic sense: being mindful of the people around you. At 33,000 feet, strong smells from spices and pickles can linger in a sealed cabin. Constant aisle movement can also create safety issues, while other passengers may simply want to rest. There’s nothing wrong with food or cultural warmth. It’s about knowing when that warmth belongs in a shared space and when it doesn’t.
