@elonmusk Applied for a disaster loan after Helene in October ‘24… got an interest rate double all of my neighbors… no one at sba can tell me why… no process to change… talk to 7 people get 7 different answers… I get an email once a day from sba to sign the high interest loan. Morons.

Can’t hurt… @DOGE @elonmusk I’ve been dealing with the @SBAgov disaster loan process for Hurricane Helene here in Asheville/Swannanoa NC. The inefficient way they run you in circles to accept offers to even have a discussion about any kind of loan modification is maddening help

@NCTopophile @AshleyLoafman Thanks for pointing out that none of that is for actual repair and rebuilding. Cause as you know every homeowner with a mortgage (home insurance) automatically gets denied FEMA help and tossed into an appeals process which is done by mail and not their claims portal.

@TheRealzSmoo @EFisherWX How about in the next couple of years? Understand the problem? These trees are not going anywhere and will become a fire risk. The amount of trees down in the area is astonishing and I wouldn’t expect someone from outside the area who hasn’t seen what’s going on to understand.

@AvlWatchdog As a resident along side of the Swannanoa River… someone needs to be looking into what was done at the reservoir before, during, and after the storm. It looked like they had no plan to prep before the storm and just dumped the reservoir out on us all… despite its updates.

Screw all of your “gas bans”, bs appliance efficiency standards, and energy/building codes that eliminate gas appliances in homes… literally the only utility working along side of the Swannanoa River in Asheville! Anyone with an electric stove is outside with propane camp stoves
