In bungie's implied lore, humans a d forefunners are the same. In 343's lore since H4, humans and forefunners are sibblings, both created by the precursors, aka the flood. Halo lore nowadays says that the later is truth.

@EmperorKermit Nuh-uh, jajaja that was a terrible bare bone release. Same with infinite. 3 games in 15 years is better than bethesda but it is still awful considering how incomplete the games were. People moved on, only MCC found actual redemtion. (forgot about the req points in H5)

@EmperorKermit and regarding cortana as the villain, that would have been executed better, even if that was the plan, the way they did it was a massive mistake. Thus why Infinite had a whole speech dedicated to it.

@EmperorKermit to the point that multiplayer eventually became sweaty, had the same boss fight repeated more than 5 times, introduced more robots as enemies instead of living organisms, and was very incomplete at release. Lacked many features that were standar for Halo.

@EmperorKermit I mean, using one's imagination is exactly how lore is made and they happened to make it peak regardless of how little they might ha e thought of it. Regarding 343, they have had highs and lows, on the story part, H4 and infinity are good, but H5 was bad. To me, at least.

@EmperorKermit Maybe they don't realize that their lore was peak, I mean, the fact that the Halos are nearly earth-sized and mostly resemble earth's atmosphere is great visual story telling. And 343's additions have been as well, even if they brought some contoversy.

Also, part of all these mysteries in Bungie's lore, was the massive irony of the covenant nearly destroying the very race they worship due to the huge shame and loss of power for the prophets that would be brought unto them if the truth ever came out.

@EmperorKermit Yeah, prolly, but they still made the lore much bigger and better until they left, regardless of the lore preference, both the theory and the explicit lore are great. I just wish to see Offensive Bias in game soon, I wish to see more forerunner lore, more flood, and so..
