@Elttob_ I think S&box will pose the greatest competition to Roblox. It’s already gained a small following and has yet to even be released. Of course other factors like price point exist though. Developers have a lot more freedom in S&box than Roblox which is huge too.

@passhley @ScriptOff41968 this is one of the things that's most frustrating to me. i don't really enjoy making games but i do enjoy making tools for game developers. its been 2 years since roblox announced paid plugins and somehow they still havent rolled out to all developers...

@Joshument @Cublem @Elttob_ don’t render blocks behind what’s visible if you were and also implement greedy blocks which should provide the biggest performance boost

@Cublem @Elttob_ only render what the player can see, limit render distances, use a greedy voxel system to reduce part & texture count, etc.

Finding the right language to build a GUI app in is so hard... I went from JS/TS to C++ and now to Rust. There's no framework I find comfortable enough to use in any language apparently.

hopefully Roblox open sources more of the engine to progress more and stop being stuck 5 years behind all other engines

@MrChickenRocket @Cpt_Core I see why Roblox does it cause they have a larger mobile audience but as a developer I sometimes just want to make a higher end game that runs on a console or PC. I don't agree with the restrictions being forced on developers
